He’s outraged the co-founder, head of public relations, head of one of its iconic lines, and now his co—Chief Executive Officer.
That type of behavior could lead to serious consequences in any other fashion business or other line of work. So, what will Forrester Creations’ Board of Directors do, if anything, about one of its two top people?
The Board holds power above Ridge. In theory, Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) could make a move on her father to have him ousted if she feels he’s not serving the best interests of the company.
Steffy Forrester Finnegan Has Earned Her Place
Ridge put himself in a bad position when he went to Steffy and told her what his wife proposed. Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) has a good business sense and, as Steffy acknowledged, has earned her spot at Forrester Creations.
However, Brooke knows that demoting any executive who’s performed well above expectations has to create fallout. But she’s not considering how significant that blowback would be if Ridge would replace Steffy with her as his co-CEO.
Plus, the Board of Directors would have to be involved in such a move, and Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) input would be influential.
Steffy won’t leave her co-CEO spot without a fight, and there’s no way to predict what happens if that doesn’t happen.
Brooke Logan Forrester Feels Certain About Her Future
Brooke made her way in fashion the same way she walked through life. Confidence has always been key, and realizing her goals, whether they be personal or business-related, is why she’s risen to the top.
Being married to Ridge on nine different occasions, including their current union, naturally leads Brooke to think that she can convince him to do anything. But she seems to have compartmentalized their eight splits.
If Ridge determines that he can’t take the needed steps that are necessary to forcibly remove Steffy, then Brooke likely won’t react with humility. She believes FC would be better off with her and Ridge running the fashion show.
Eric Forrester’s Guidance Is Needed
No one knows more about how to maintain this specific business and to balance the many family issues that are inherent when multiple relatives populate the payroll.
Ridge’s misstep was not consulting his father after Brooke made her pitch. Eric would have been able to at least offer Ridge cover if he, like Steffy, felt that Brooke shouldn’t become the co-CEO.
But fans should wonder what Eric is thinking about Ridge’s performance these past months. It could be that the entire storyline, which began with Eric’s forced retirement and temporary jump to Logan, is leading to Kaye’s character having his role adjusted or potentially ended.
Instead of Brooke replacing Steffy, it would be that Brooke replaces Ridge. He, like Eric, is a designer, and maybe Brooke has the better business mind?
