Is Chelsea A Heroine Or A Villain?
Because for a lot of viewers of the show, she’s still a villain and a con-artist that came to this fictional town of Genoa City ready and willing to scam people out of their money.
Not only that, but a lot of people can’t help but wonder how MAB would have developed her if she had stayed. She introduced Chelsea as a con artist and then not long after JFP took over and turned her into more of a forced heroine.
It’s also been noted that all the different writers in between before JG came back mostly kept her that way. The same can be said about Phyllis where they tried to push her into heroine territory too, but Phyllis still kept more of an edge compared to Chelsea. So, who is she really and do fans sympathize with her character? That’s what everyone wants to know.
Clearly, many Y&R fans had a lot to say about the matter on social media.
Some even commented with, “I see Chelsea as a voice of reason, calling out the Newman family’s hypocrisy. Yes, Chelsea has become dull and flat as a character. I wish the writers would give her more drive to push the Newman family into opening their minds to seeing reality. That, I am afraid, is impossible.”
What’s Really Going On With Chelsea Newman?
Another fan of the show wrote, “Chelsea needs an interesting story! The writers have made her boring. Let’s see her get back to some of her con artist ways perhaps?”
And then there was this comment as well: “Chelsea is a perfect example of soaps not knowing how to redeem villains anymore. They have them go from lying, scheming, being viscous to being so sugary sweet you could get a tooth ache watching their scenes.”
