The Young And The Restless Spoilers reveal that when Dominic Winters (Ethan Ray Clark) was originally kidnapped by Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) was the parent who wanted Mariah sent to prison for what she had done.
Abby was furious when Mariah came to visit and wanted her locked away. Why is Devon Winters (Bryton James) sudden pushing the issue?
Things Have Changed Since February
Back in February when Dominic was rescued, Abby was the one who was furious with Mariah.
Since Mariah gave birth to Dominic, she had never been cut out of his life. Abby and Devon had no problem with Mariah being a second mother figure to their son.
However, Mariah had been suffering mentally and needed help.
Mariah had separated from Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and believed she could take Dominic and rejoin Ian Ward’s (Ray Wise) cult.
Mariah went to the Chancellor mansion and kidnapped Dominic and proceeded to take him on a cross country trip where she planned to keep going and raise Dominic on her own. Abby was out for blood when Dominic was found.
Devon Winters And Mariah Copeland We Once Friends
Abby was the one who insisted that Mariah not have a place in Dominic’s life after this and Devon was the one who was defending her.
Even when Mariah came by the house to talk to Dominic, Devon was trying to make sure that both his son and his friend was okay. Suddenly, all of that has changed.
Devon thought his son was safe with him and Abby until this kidnapping occurred.
Devon knew that Mariah wouldn’t hurt Dominic even then, although she did scare the child when she took off with him and refused to allow him to contact his parents. Even after all of this, Devon believed mental help was enough. So what has changed since February?
Suddenly Abby Newman Is The Voice Of Reason
Currently Devon is dead set against Mariah going to a mental institution and he wants Mariah to go to prison. Devon is doing all of this without even consulting Abby.
Abby doesn’t understand why Devon isn’t talking to her and making decisions together. Now Abby is the one who believes Mariah needs help mentally and that prison will not help her at all.
Has Devon suddenly realized that could not protect his son after all? Perhaps Devon is blaming himself for not seeing that his friend was a threat in the first place.
Devon seems to be afraid that Mariah might come after Dominic again and that he won’t find him this time. Whatever the case, the show has done a 180 with these parents and some fans cannot help but wonder why.
