The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Sheila Carter Sharpe (Kimberlin Brown) never suspected that Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) was betraying their perception of a friendship.
So, she got a knife and was prepared to defend a woman who appeared to be in harm’s way.
But viewers have known for months that Taylor and Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) were falling hard into love. Their planned meeting at the cliff house was inevitable, as they both said while Sheila climbed the staircase.
Kudos to all behind-the-scenes B&B staffers for crafting a dramatic crescendo that included Sheila and a butcher’s knife shadow, matching music, and extended scenes that allowed Brown’s character to prepare to defend what she thought was a friend in need of saving.
Crashing Waves Foreshadowed Mega Reveal
Devoted viewers knew this type of mega reveal was coming. Having Deacon and Taylor go after each other for a lengthy period of time teed up the volleyball that began to be spiked when Sheila let herself into the cliff house through an open kitchen sliding glass door.
The multiple moments when Sheila could have learned the truth also implied that an eventual revelation was planned. The only question that remained was the circumstances that would position Sheila in the line of reception.
Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) planned a beach camping trip with the children, which created a plausible opportunity for Taylor and Deacon to be alone. But let’s explore the chain of soapy events that led to Sheila being at the cliff house as well.
Was The Cliff House Setup Believable?
A direct answer to this section header would be fence-walking, maybe. It’s reasonable to believe that Sheila would follow Deacon to Hope Spencer’s (Annika Noelle) home.
Deacon rejected Sheila’s offer to spend time together in their upstairs and now upscale apartment at Il Giardino.
How Deacon managed to obtain Italian financing for that restaurant property a handful of years ago is a different issue to address on another daytime day.
But Sheila didn’t seek Deacon at Hope’s. Instead, a voluminous, flowery delivery sparked a kind-hearted idea. In keeping with the evolution of B&B’s all-time leading villain, Sheila decided to take some of the extra flowers to Taylor.
The above is a winding road, but it does take Sheila and the fans to the water’s edge, which is where Deacon was cheating on her.
In the spirit of not dragging the plot, it’s fair to say that this was a believable gesture because of the many instances when Sheila gushed over Taylor’s so-called help.
Sheila Carter Sharpe Turns The Sharpened Blade
Sheila goes by Sharpe now, and the above title is in keeping with the campy nature of what’s happening. With that, a great twist reveal would have Sheila turn the knife on herself rather than stab Deacon in the back or hurt Taylor.
Brown is one of the great actors in this genre and has been since she debuted decades ago. Hopefully, she’s been given scripts that don’t repeat her character attacking either offending party.
An evolved character would be shocked and crushed by what she saw and then suffer a mental breakdown.
But if Taylor’s psychological analysis of Sheila is right, then Brown’s character won’t project violence on those who wronged her.
She could become a danger to her own well-being, with Deacon and Taylor forced to save her and then deal with the guilt they created. That would be great soap.
