The inevitable reveal of Audra Cortes’ (Zuleyka Silver) will come with her real last name also being exposed. She went along with Holden Novak’s (Nathan Owens) panicked burial of a man he accidentally killed at The Shadow Room.
Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) is hot on the daytime trail after having appointed herself a citizen detective. She’s driven by payback impulses that are comparable to Holden having covered what wasn’t a crime until he made it one by having Audra help him bury a body in the desert.
Audra Cortes’ Remarkable Progress Defined
Audra is smart. She’s also someone who has developed her abilities to the max and then exploited them on multiple occasions.
Her backstory still remains sketchy and will hopefully be expanded as this and other storylines play out. Silver is a solid actor who’s added a flavorful element to the show, with her character being portrayed as the villain nearly every time around.
Silver’s range allows the audience to want to know more about how she became so self-centered, moving through Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John), Noah Newman (Lucas Adams), Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) so quickly and without realizing a long-term relationship.
The loss of the baby she and Noah were expecting remains the most poignant, as that particular part of Audra’s history deserves a deeper re-exploration, and one that could be done through an eventual reunion with Noah. Though that’s likely down the road.
Sally Spectra’s Ingratitude Is Notable
Without Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), Sally would never be the head of Newman Media and Abbott Communications. She never had the financial wherewithal or connections to reach the top of either media entity on her own.
The pairing with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) faltered because she couldn’t trust him. The same explanation is being used now with Billy.
Sally’s conclusion about Adam was just based on his cheating on her with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). But her arguably rash, recent decision about Billy doesn’t make complete sense. Instead, it feels like a way to push this part of the plot into existence.
Victor Newman And Jack Abbott Won’t Rest
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is working on a plan to retake Newman Enterprises from Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Assuming that happens, which isn’t a stretch, he’s also likely to pursue a re-acquisition of Newman Media.
The Moustache might try to keep the Abbott Communications portion of the combined company. But Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will surely have a say about that assumed theft.
Neither man can allow Sally and Audra to run the companies whose finances they created. Victor and Jack don’t agree on much, but certainly do when it comes to stripping Sally and Audra of the businesses they have no legal right to.
