The embattled head of the Newman family told Matt to stand up, with viewers believing they would fight bare-knuckle style.
A dialogue update informed fans that Victor turned Howarth’s character over to the authorities. The audience hasn’t heard of or seen Matt since.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) questioned the logic of allowing Matt to live. But Victor didn’t follow through on his son’s misguided termination plan.
Nick Newman Should Be Glad His Dad Intervened
Nick would likely have been arrested at some point for eliminating Matt, as he planned to do. Thankfully, everyone who was gathered at the Cottage on what was trending as a fateful day talked Nick down.
Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) was the crucial cog in that soapy wheel. She left the Cottage and went to the Main House.
Victor appreciated her taking that stance and immediately went to intervene. There’s no telling what would have happened if he hadn’t done that.
Plus, Matt’s escape artist ability could also have led to Nick being injured beyond his broken bone, or even to his death, as a result of trying to permanently settle his battle with this legendary villain.
Noah Newman Wants To Leave Town
Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) is in love. Sienna has his heart, and so that’s why he’s ready to fly to Los Angeles, California, with her.
To her credit, Sienna is trying persuade Noah to stay with his family in Genoa City, Wisconsin. She cares deeply for Adams’ character, who is the exact opposite of her husband.
Matt lived under an assumed name, Mitch Bacall, and was involved in making substantial amounts of money by dealing in illegal substances.
He tried to force Noah to ingest some of them, which could have ended his life, and also planned to get rid of Sienna because she’d seen too much.
But Noah and Sienna withstood the onslaught Matt and his goons offered. Their relationship was reinforced, with Braun’s character now claiming that she doesn’t want Noah to return to LA with her.
Hopefully, Sienna Bacall Sticks Around
Braun has been a solid addition to the cast. Her initial introduction made the audience believe she was simply someone Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) knew when he was in California.
But Sienna proved to be far more than a side character. She projects as Noah’s potential first wife.
It could be that Braun was signed as a short-term player. So, it will be interesting to see if Matt’s legal issues play out on screen.
If so, then Sienna and Noah would be primed to have more screen time with him. Noah wants Sienna to stay, and that decision should be made shortly.
Yet, everyone said their piece to Matt during the mock trial Victor held in the Cottage before having him taken away.
It would be good for this soap if Howarth and Braun remain with the cast because they are strong actors.
