In contrast, Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) had a respectful and encouraging conversation with Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig).
Both ladies, Steffy and Hope, want the best for their respective parents. Wood’s character is right to think that Sheila Carter Sharpe (Kimberlin Brown) will flip if she learns about Deacon’s feelings for Taylor.
However, Hope sees things differently. She recognizes that Sheila is a danger but wants her away from Deacon, with Taylor being the preferred rebound.
Steffy Forrester Finnegan Leading The Way
Recruiting Hope wasn’t something Steffy doubted. She believed that her one-time rival for Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) would share her feelings about Sheila.
Steffy wasn’t wrong to conclude that Hope wants to protect her father, just as Wood’s character wants to shield Taylor from danger. But Steffy didn’t give enough weight to Hope’s alternate perspective.
Deacon did tacitly admit that he cares for Taylor in a way that goes beyond respect. That’s all Steffy needed to confirm her suspicion that Deacon is continuing to pursue her mother and intends to leave Sheila to do so.
Deacon Sharpe And Taylor Hayes Have Chemistry
Deacon knows that Steffy is right. Taylor is living through a period of vulnerability that was caused by Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), whom he’s disliked for years.
One of the reasons Deacon and Taylor bonded is because they can commiserate about those soapy love birds, Ridge and Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang). Deacon and Brooke are Hope’s parents, and he wanted to recouple with Lang’s character in recent years.
Ridge was first in Brooke’s heart during the referenced storyline when Deacon was attempting to rekindle a love affair with her. Taylor just recently had her engagement dashed because Ridge saved Brooke’s life last year, and their often-mentioned destiny was renewed.
Sheila Carter Sharpe Is Currently Out Of The Loop
Fans feel that the inevitable has been delayed because Sheila has no direct knowledge of what’s been developing between her husband and assumed advocate, Taylor. Devoted B&B devotees know Sheila’s history, which Steffy cited when giving Deacon a warning to immediately change course.
Steffy fears that Taylor is susceptible to Deacon and, therefore, remains open to his advances. She’s right, but Budig’s character has done a generally good job of compartmentalizing her emotions during Deacon’s therapy sessions.
Taylor has been the voice of reason that Deacon and Sheila have heard. But this is daytime. But neither Taylor nor Deacon can deny what their hearts want, and all comments to questioners are mere diversions.
So, the expanding number of characters who are aware of the potential for something to happen between Kanan’s and Budig’s alter egos makes it increasingly likely that Sheila will soon gain devastating knowledge. That point in the plot will test Steffy’s theory that Sheila will revert to the dark side.
