B&B’s decision to recast the role that a solid actor, Joshua Hoffman (RJ Forrester), most recently played ties into the emerging family conflict between the Forresters and the Spencers. Add in that two of the main combatants are sisters, Brooke and Katie Logan Spencer (Heather Tom).
Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) decision to align with Katie is also highly intriguing. He said that Ridge will be bothered by this move when it becomes known, but will get over it. Viewers likely thought that it wouldn’t be anytime soon.
Ridge Forrester Is A Hot Head
Ridge has a quixotic personality. The same can be said for Brooke, with those two lovebirds being quite the well-matched pair.
RJ told his parents that he was glad to see them back together, but added a comment that underplays his emotional connection to them. The character that Nicoletti now plays said that he’s past the age where his parents being together affects him all that much.
Viewers have long seen that children of any age, on either side of the screen, are impacted by their parents’ marital situation. Consider, as an example, Steffy Forrester Finnegan’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) repeated responses to Ridge and Brooke’s nine marriages.
Katie Spencer Is A Logan Through And Through
Katie again added the Spencer name to her moniker. She never fell out of love with Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) but had to travel a long way to trust him again. With that goal accomplished, his wedding gift hit the exact right note.
Gifting her a ready-to-build fashion house was an amazing vote of confidence in her potential. That’s a subject that Bill and Eric completely agreed upon.
In contrast, Ridge and Brooke are certain that Katie is in over her head and has completely underestimated her worth or ability to succeed with Logan.
Brooke Logan Is A Forrester As Well
Brooke made something of herself after starting with the most modest beginnings. Her backstory is one of the most storied in all of daytime.
The power of Lang’s character is so significant that she was eventually able to earn the respect and love of Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery), who famously lambasted her rival back in the soapy day. This speaks well of Brooke, whose keen fashion sense and business mind give FC a real weapon.
Katie’s counter with Eric appears to give her an unexpected edge. Having him as her mentor and now being able to tap into his new designs means everything as the Forresters, Spencers, and Logans prepare to eventually face off on the runway, where an unpredictable winner will emerge.
