General Hospital spoilers reveal Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) were the only two people present the night someone crept into Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) house and shot him twice in his back.
They’ve been over the details of that night a hundred times in their minds and continue to find no reason they should shake up the investigation — and their own lives — by telling the truth now.
They have spent months hiding to avoid stirring the pot or drawing attention to Trina’s mom, who had ample reason to want Drew to go away.
But Drew’s testimony at the trial this week changed everything — even if Trina and Kai don’t realize it just yet.
Silence is Golden
Trina and Kai haven’t been too bent out of shape over their secret — that they were hiding out in another room in Drew’s house listening to the gun shots ring out from the living room.
There to steal documents from Drew’s safe, they weren’t eager to out themselves for breaking and entering, or to make it look like they had anything to do with his shooting.
Still, keeping quiet and risking it coming out some other way would only make them look more complicit and perhaps guilty as sin.
Nevertheless, they have remained committed to keeping their mouths shut, but that could change in the week ahead.
GH Spoilers Say Tracy’s Testimony Laid the Tracks
If you weren’t paying close attention during Tracy Quartermaine’s (Jane Elliot) testimony, you might have easily glossed over the part where DA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) asked whether Tracy touched anything in the house when she made her way to Drew, who was bleeding out on the floor.
She specifically asked whether Tracy touched or moved the baseball bat that was nearby, to which Tracy answered no.
Why did Turner ask this question when nothing about prints on the bat has ever been mentioned? It could be foreshadowing of things to come as this storyline unfolds.
Drew’s Account Brought It on Home
Neither Trina nor Kai were present at the trial, and why would they be? That would also draw a target over them that they don’t want.
However, that doesn’t mean they won’t hear the gory details of how it all went down — albeit from a friend or via the media.
When they do, will either of them catch this life-changing detail? No one called or texted Drew the night he was shot.
DA Turner made sure to ask Drew while he was under oath whether he spoke to anyone that night after he got home, and when he answered that he did not, she said his cell phone records confirm that, gesturing that she had them in hand.
This is huge. Remember when Trina and Kai overheard Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star play from a cell phone, and they just assumed it was Emily ‘Scout’ Cain (Cosette Abinante) calling her dad? Well, it wasn’t.
That means that ringtone was the sound of someone else’s phone ringing. But who, and how long before Kai and Trina realize their testimony of that night matters now? Share your guess in the comments, and keep checking back for more GH news and spoilers.
