Eric seems primed to either return to FC, battle Ridge for control, or start a new fashion house and poach some of the famous fashion house’s talent. Can anyone say Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson)?
Ridge Forrester Admits To Being Wrong And Apologizes
No one can blame Ridge now, and Eric doesn’t seem to. The rapprochement they enjoyed on the runway, no less, was real. But will it hold?
Daytime isn’t about humility and aw-shucks dialogue. So, something must be coming next, right?
Having Eric battle with Ridge doesn’t make much sense, and they’ve gone down that soapy road before. Remember when Ridge became infatuated with Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer), Eric’s wife and his stepmother?
Ridge meant well in creating the retirement party, and he loves his dad. He and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), who was glued to his side as usual, didn’t think the optics through, which again proved that two heads aren’t always better than one. But Eric knows Ridge loves him and that his heart was in the right place.
Eric Forrester Was Drifting For A While
Eric is facing his mortality. He was thrilled that his last set of designs was overwhelmingly accepted and applauded.
It seemed that was Eric’s fashion farewell, with his so-called Final Collection generating more than a polite, nostalgic reaction across the fashion world. No, Eric still had something to give.
At the point in the plot referenced above, it felt like McCook’s character would recede for a while and then return to do something else. But Eric returned with a fresh set of designs and wanted back in the game.
Then, after a retirement party provoked him, Eric got mad, ruminated, and then stated he would remain on the sidelines. His volatility leaves fans wondering when his mind will change again and what direction he’ll want to go then.
Bill Spencer’s Competition Sparks Father And Son
Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) vision of creating a Spencer fashion house and having his soon-to-be-again wife, Katie Logan (Heather Tom), as a controlling interest may be the pivot. It would be hard to make the audience accept Eric partnering with Bill, and he would never work for Diamont’s character.
The most likely outcome will have Eric taking Ridge up on his offer to join him and work together again. Neither man can allow Bill to create a real threat to their family business.
So, having Bill become the common enemy is the remedy Eric and Ridge need to get past their modest, momentary disagreement.
