General Hospital Spoilers: Dante Gets Tough — Rocco Rebels and Pushes the Rules

General Hospital spoilers tease Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamrogna) isn’t keen on letting Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) hang out with his big brother, Giovanni ‘Gio’ Palmieri (Giovani Mazza) — but that’s not likely to fly with Rocco.

The Detective turned Acting Police Commissioner was prepared to charge Gio and Emma Scorpio Drake (Bradyn Bruner) for freeing all those dogs from Professor Henry Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) lab, but Rocco negotiated a peace treaty instead — he would go home with his dad if he forgot about the whole mess and didn’t proceed to get the PCPD involved.

Dante might think he won this fight, but we know Rocco is bound to keep pushing the envelope when it comes to Gio.

Runaway Rocco

Rocco didn’t waste time booking it away from both his parents when he felt like they ganged up on him about Gio. Dante’s demand that Rocco stay away from Gio took Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) by as much surprise as it did her son, judging from the look on her face.

Still, she stood by Dante and supported his decision, even if she didn’t necessarily agree with it fully.

Rocco might have benefitted from his mother’s solidarity at that moment. Instead, he ran to his grandfather, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), for moral support. After Gio and Emma Scorio Drake (Bradyn Bruner) showed up with a dozen dogs in tow — compromising Rocco, who was out on bail — everything changed.

GH Spoilers Claim Like Father, Like Son

It’s ironic that Dante can’t see the similarities between himself and both of his sons. Rocco is pushing back on every rule laid out before him, trying to figure out where the real justice lies as he walks a fine line between wanting to please his parents and wanting to live his own life.

Dante has always been a by-the-book rule-follower, but it hasn’t always been easy for him when the rules blur as his relationships overlap with his profession.

Specifically, he has called his dad out more than once when Sonny’s dirty deeds have tread too close for comfort to Dante’s line of work as a cop. Shouldn’t he understand the complexities of sticking with family even when we don’t agree with everything they do and understand they may even present risk to our lives? Further, Gio might even be more like Dante than Rocco is.

For some reason, Dante can’t get past his fury long enough to take a peek at Gio’s intentions.

History Always Repeats Itself

Rocco has been exhibiting some pretty interesting behavior over the last couple of years. His life has changed dramatically, but that won’t stop anyone from holding him accountable for the decisions he has made.

Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) death, combined with Lulu waking up after having lost four years with her, and then being banished from Emily ‘Scout’ Cain’s (Cosette Abinante) life — all of these things have thrown Rocco for a loop.

Learning he had a brother in the process took some of the sting of losing time with his family away. Being told he can’t see him probably isn’t going to stick if we know this new version of Rocco.

It would seem like Dante doesn’t know him very well though. What do you think? Will Rocco abide by orders, or go his own way? Share your thoughts in the comments, and keep checking back for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
