The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Victor Goes Nuclear — Cane Faces the Fallout

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) used the deal he made with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). But he technically made no promises and therefore hasn’t broken them.

Dealing with Victor, as Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) wanted to do, isn’t easy. Sometimes, based on the soapy circumstances, it’s not even possible.

As Phyllis just learned, her transfer of the artificial intelligence program she stole from Cane to Victor has gone awry.

She still stands to receive what the Moustache promised, as her half of the deal. However, any transactional exchange with Victor almost always results in him having the upper hand.

Adam Newman’s Delay Pushed Doomsday To The Fall

Cane was serious. He arrived in haste at the re-positioned Ranch house and quickly took a seat at Victor’s request.

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) used Newman Media to deliver the smack-down his father ordered, though it was purposely slowed.

As viewers recall, Victor wanted Adam to digitally publish the hit piece on Cane last summer but Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) influence blocked that from happening.

So, it was interesting to watch Adam’s reaction when Cane arrived with an invisible hat in his hand. Victor was open to hearing what his recent rival had to say, while knowing that he commanded the chessboard regardless of what was said.

Cane Ashby’s One Billion Offer ,Was Too Little, Too Late

Viewers knew that Cane was a billionaire because of the massive volume of dialogue that’s been delivered about Aristotle Dumas this year on Y&R. As it turned out, Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) received the riches of a woman he was connected to in France.

The above is a kind way of detailing Cane’s departed father, who became involved with an older woman who owned a chateau in the southern part of France and had plenty of money. The inheritance Colin gained, under an assumed name, was then gifted to Cane, who turned that French bread into Arabesque.

There have been no explicit details about why Cane dubbed his conglomerate with that specific moniker, as it doesn’t tie to the geographic location where Colin earned his bounty.

Regardless, the money haul that Cane gained allowed him to have a total net worth that can be counted at least ten places to the left of a decimal point and offer Victor a one-billion payoff, which he didn’t accept.

Victor Newman Was Two Steps Removed

People are upset with Phyllis and have every right to be. She employed her latest Phoenix strategy when agreeing to work for him and later retaliated when he decided not to employ his hostile takeover of Genoa City, Wisconsin’s legacy companies.

It’s natural to blame Victor for, well, being Victor. But he’s been open about wanting to crush Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) for decades, and Phyllis gave him the tool to do it.

However, any honest analysis of this storyline must begin with Cane knowingly allowing the creation of a dangerous computer program that, in the wrong hands, could be used for ill intent. He hired Phyllis and provided her with access that proved too close to the vest. Victor didn’t steal the AI program from her. She gave it to him. But it only existed because of Cane’s approval. Checkmate.
