Days Of Our Lives Alum Chrishell Stause Exits Selling Sunset — Inside Her Decision & Mental Health Journey

Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates reveal soap opera alum Chrishell Stause (Jordan Ridgeway) has officially declared her exit from the popular Netflix series “Selling Sunset”.

The actress, who previously enchanted daytime audiences on Days of our Lives, The Young and the Restless, and All My Children, states that the show no longer supports her mental well-being or creative goals.

Chrishell Wants To Focus On Her Mental Health And Other Creative Projects

Chrishell Stause has announced her departure from Selling Sunset after nine seasons. She stated that the show is “no longer beneficial for my mental health.” A seasoned daytime star, Stause intends to focus on acting and LGBTQ+ creative endeavors.

In an interview with Bustle, she shared that making the choice to leave was challenging; “I’ve gone back and forth on this decision previously,” she said.

While the opportunity was transformative, the emotional strain was difficult to overlook. “Even Jesus Christ himself couldn’t persuade me to return for season 10,” she joked, mentioning that showrunner Adam DiVello had been “calling and texting 100 times a day.”

Chrishell Says It Was A Difficult Decision, But It Had To Be Done

After enduring years of hidden conflicts, social media backlash, and sensational drama, Stause made the decision to focus on her well-being. “I’ve reached a point where I no longer rely on the show for financial support,” she stated; “I’m fortunate to have other job opportunities, as it’s become detrimental to my mental health.” Throughout her nine seasons, Stause frequently found herself at the heart of Selling Sunset’s most dramatic incidents.

In this season, she had disagreements with her co-stars and expressed concerns about how the editing influenced her portrayal. “They omitted so many details that would have completely cleared my name,” she remarked-“I just appear to be a demanding friend, but there’s so much the viewers never got to see.”

Chrishell Noted It Was Difficult Being The Only Queer Member Of The Cast

Stause, who is married to musician G Flip, discussed the difficulties of being the only queer-identified member of the cast. “I think people believe they are allies, but they don’t understand the difference in lived experiences,” she said. “It took some time for them to take my relationship seriously.”

Now, Stause is eager to pursue projects that align with her values and creative vision. She has shown interest in hosting The Ultimatum: Queer Love if it gets a new network, and she’s proposing a more inclusive dating competition.

Chrishell Wants To Return To Acting, And Is Promoting A New Script

She is eager to return to acting, her original passion-and is actively promoting a new script while looking for more queer-led roles. “Since coming out, I want to fully embrace it,” she expressed. “Let’s make a holiday film where I take the lead and we tell queer stories together;” for the actress who has forged her career through resilience, this upcoming chapter feels appropriate. “I’m not one to give up,” Stause reminisced about her departure from reality TV; “But I made a promise to myself-I’ll never have to go through this again.
