As fans recall, Steffy felt the need to leave town because of all that happened with Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada), including her apparent death. But the audience and Sheila learned that Luna never died last summer.
Li Nozawa (Naomi Matsuda) faked a second family member’s death and replayed clandestine recovery efforts just as she did for John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan).
Steffy was stunned to learn that Li saved Luna’s life and then secretly kept her alive in a remote location. However, Finn telling her that his daughter was back behind bars eased Steffy’s mind. Sheila reinforced that plot point.
Il Giardino Is Where Repeated Drama Happens
So much goes on at Deacon Sharpe’s (Sean Kanan) great restaurant. Viewers noticed that the setting was recently given a visual upgrade, with views of Los Angeles, California, in every daytime scene.
Luna killed two men in the restaurant before it was upgraded, which led to Deacon creating the often-shown shrine he’s created for them.
But she returned to the scene of her double murder, targeted Will Spencer (Crew Morrow), plied him with high octane alcohol, and is now pregnant with his child.
So, Steffy going to Il Giardino and talking to Sheila pales in comparison to the deeply dramatic events that happened.
Plus, fans know that Steffy was sincere when she thanked her mother-in-law for defending her at the beach house. Sheila lost another toe when Luna accidentally shot her.
Sheila Carter Sharpe Is Thrilled With This Second Chance
Sheila knows that she was wrong. She kept news of Luna’s survival and recovery from Deacon, which created his temporary separation from her.
But he sought mental health treatment from a surprising source, Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig). Sheila is convinced that Taylor is the reason why Deacon’s forgiveness was earned.
The audience knows Deacon’s dirty little secret. He is giving Sheila a second chance, but would have pursued an affair with Taylor had she allowed it.
Now that Steffy is back in town, she could become the person who learns about Deacon and Taylor’s growing connection. That would put Steffy in a very awkward position on multiple levels.
Deacon Sharpe’s Tightrope Walk Continues
Deacon believes that he will work out his marital problems over time. Yet, he plans to do so by continuing to be under Taylor’s care.
Taylor allowing that indicates that she is leaving her heart open to the possibility that Deacon’s marriage might not succeed. She would be in line to comfort him should that happen.
However, both people are willing to believe that Sheila won’t learn the truth. Deacon has developed feelings for Taylor, and thoughts of him deepen in her mind through their continued therapy sessions.
A break point seems destined. Sheila’s history implies that Deacon and Taylor will be in deep trouble if they cross an ethical line, and she confirms it.
