The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates reveal the news broke that two beloved soap stars are set to join the CBS series.
While fans are thrilled to see these actors return to the screen, there are concerns about whether the soap will let go of some veteran cast members to manage expenses.
Iconic Actor Roger Howarth On His Way
Earlier this year, The Young & The Restless attracted actor Billy Flynn from Days of Our Lives; his secretive role was later disclosed to be a recast of Cane Ashby.
In an unexpected development, the soap opera has just revealed that two more well-known soap stars are joining the cast.
General Hospital fans last saw Roger Howarth in 2023 when his character, Austin Gatlin-Holt, was shot and killed.
He had previously portrayed Todd Manning on the ABC soap One Life To Live and briefly brought Todd to Port Charles until a copyright lawsuit prevented GH from using characters from OLTL.
Now, he will take on a mysterious role in the CBS soap; he is anticipated to begin filming scenes for Young & The Restless shortly.
Tamara Braun Also Joining The CBS Soap
Tamara Braun is well-known for her role as Carly Spencer on General Hospital after Sarah Brown departed from the part; recently, she portrayed Ava Vitali on Days of Our Lives.
On April 1, she announced her exit from the soap, and unfortunately, it was not an April Fool’s prank. Michelle Stafford, a star from Young & The Restless, shared on Instagram her excitement about the new cast members-she is friends with both Roger Howarth and Tamara Braun.
One fan humorously proposed that Tamara Braun could take on the role of Summer Newman, the daughter of her character, Phyllis-in response to this idea, the actress simply wrote, “ummmm.” The soap has already disclosed that Tamara Braun will be playing a new character named Sienna Bacall-however, the show hinted that this character has “personal connections” in Genoa City.
Fans Are Worried Other Characters Will Be Written Out To Make Room For The New Ones
Hiring Tamara Braun and Roger Howarth is a significant casting achievement; however, fans of Young & The Restless are concerned about the current cast, particularly the veteran actors.
The addition of Billy Flynn to the soap resulted in Conner Floyd’s departure, even though Conner took over Flynn’s role at DOOL. Recently, Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) and Damian Kane (Jermaine Rogers) were also let go from the CBS soap.
Many well-known veterans, such as Eric Braeden and Melody Thomas Scott, are probably safe-still, fans fear that some other beloved veterans could be let go to make room for the new arrivals.
However, they should be relieved that their favorite soap continues to dominate ratings.
