The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Nick Turns to Phyllis for Support – Cane Struggles After Lily’s Rejection

Nick leans on Phyllis for help and reassurance, while Cane reels from Lily’s harsh rejection and searches for a way forward.

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is attempting to ally with Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) multi-pronged plan is intended to stop Cane’s coming attack or to at least buy time before it happens.

One element of Victor’s plan involves using Nick as an emissary. So, he took his father’s orders, went to Cane’s American train, and made an offer.

Cane was open to meeting with Nick after he appeared to buy the explanation that all was good following the assault in France. As is true of the Newmans’, Cane is sizing up his enemies.

Dealing With The Players In Genoa City

Whatever Colin Atkinson (the late Tristan Rogers) wanted his son to accomplish is still undefined. But what viewers do know is that Cane intends to follow through on his father’s directives and make him proud.

Colin’s passing has motivated Cane to follow through on what has become a very complex plan. It’s hard to know if Cane genuinely believed he could make a positive impression on any of the guests to his estate. Of course, the murders that happened dashed whatever hopes he had.

Following through on his promise to Lily, Cane now lives in Genoa City, Wisconsin, on a train that is identical to the one everyone stayed on while they were captive guests in France.

Possibly, Cane might need to make a quick getaway if his plans go further awry, though a train doesn’t provide the fastest exit velocity.

Lily Winters Is The Greatest Threat

Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) loved Cane deeply for many years. They were married twice, rebounded after his death hoax, and remain committed to their two children.

Hopefully, the twins will be written back into the show. But before that happens or as part of it, Cane must make amends.

He’s not going to have Lily’s support after their latest conversation ended with no deal. Cane wouldn’t reveal the details of his business plan, which makes sense considering how monumental it might be.

But rather than quitting, Cane might be motivated to an even higher degree to take control of the legacy businesses he covets. Lily’s rejection might force Cane’s emotional response.

Cane Ashby Is Lonely

It was hard to tell if Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) was Cane’s romantic interest or vice versa. She may have simply liked the position and money he provided.

Beyond Amanda, there appears to be no other woman in Cane’s life. No mention of one existing since the time he left GC has been made. Though his return to the city means that there are available women for him now.

A return to love and a reforming of his family are Cane’s deepest desires. His business efforts exist in the space where Lily, the twins, and their family used to be.

Here’s hoping Cane realizes that family is the most important and only vital part of his life before he loses them all because of a thirst for unnecessary power.
