The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) wasn’t concerned about Audra Charles’ (Zuleyka Silver) supposed business trip to France. He didn’t see Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) as a threat.
However, Audra’s foolish alliance with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) proved to be doubly disastrous. She made a play for Kyle in his train compartment and had him out her attempts to trap him.
His later revelation to Victor means that she cheated on Nate and lost the only financial backer she had for a proposed cosmetics company.
Meanwhile, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) was being consoled by Audra’s former boyfriend, Holden Novak (Nathan Owens), in Genoa City, Wisconsin. Cole Howard’s (J. Eddie Peck) unexpected death naturally left Claire reeling, with Holden offering strategic support.
Audra Charles Underestimates Two Men
Audra is smart and powerfully attractive. However, she overestimates her ability.
Zuleyka’s character accepted Victor’s bait months ago. That deal had her agree to convince Kyle to believe she wanted to reunite with him. The game was to make Claire believe that Kyle was unfaithful.
Mealor’s character outsmarted Audra in France, reversing the tables and then informing his parents and Victor of what happened.
That leaves Audra with nothing but explaining to do when she returns home and faces Nate, and he inevitably learns about her French connection, with a wink at the famous movie and its sequel of the same name.
Holden Novak Works Genoa City
Holden has positioned himself as Claire’s fallback guy. He was tasked by Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) to infiltrate the lives of various residents of Genoa City, Wisconsin, as part of an effort to seize control of multiple businesses.
Viewers learned that the late Damian Kane’s (Jermaine Rivers) friend wasn’t fired by Cane. Instead, the revealed Aristotle Dumas retained Holden to help him facilitate multiple de facto hostile takeovers.
Cane believed he could use Holden as his front man who purchased prime GC property, to eventually acquire Newman Enterprises, Jabot, and Winters Incorporated. However, the deadly events that played out on Cane’s estate in the South of France may have fully upended his goal.
Kyle Abbott Threatened By Unanticipated Enemy
Kyle has been busy. His successful efforts in exposing Audra happened while he and every other lured guest were trapped in Cane’s European maze.
Claire was open about Kyle being her first romantic interest. So, she may not be able to digest all that happened between Kyle and Audra when he likely tells her what happened.
Meanwhile, Holden has only been tagged by Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) as a phony. Claire sees him as a friend. Holden appears to be her rebound shortly.
Audra and Nate, along with Kyle and Claire, could break. If so, Kyle would be available for Summer Newman (Allison Lanier, who left the show earlier this year).
The above assumes a potential Summer recast. So, if that doesn’t happen, then Kyle and Audra might only have each other to turn to.
