The Bold and the Beautiful Specs: Rebecca Budig Fired, Taylor Hayes Recast?

Could this be the miscast of the century? That’s what a lot of The Bold and the Beautiful fans can’t help but wonder about Rebecca Budig, who currently plays Taylor Hayes on the hit CBS soap.

While they absolutely love Rebecca Budig, a lot of people are speculating that she might get fired from the show sooner rather than later.

That’s mostly because they feel as though she’s just not a good fit for this fictional town of Los Angeles. Rebecca’s version of Taylor treats her daughter Steffy like a best friend. 

She also doesn’t have any valuable input to give when it comes to a lot of current issues, including Steffy’s struggle with Finn and Luna and what Ridge should do with Brooke Logan.

B&B fans certainly did have a lot to say about the speculation and their thoughts on Rebecca on social media. 

Some have even commented with, “I haven’t seen any of her other work but she is awful as Taylor, I am in no way blaming the actress none of this is her fault, it’s not her fault she was miscast in this role.”

“I have actually stopped watching because of her and I won’t start watching again until they either get rid of the character or cast her with an actress that actually fits the role. Because this just isn’t working and it never will.”

Another critic of the soap wrote, “I don’t mind a recast but they could have at least went with someone who fits the role like Kristian Alfonso or Stacy Haiduk. Even Gina Tognoni would have been a better choice. This is awful on so many levels.”

And then there was this comment as well: “I always just forward the episode and skip her parts, it’s just irritating and boring at the same time. All other parts are better, excluding Ridge who has been also written as a quite irritating character lately.”

The Bold and the Beautiful Specs: What’s Next For Rebecca Budig?

“It’s a pity that the main couple who were symbols of the series are now just a shadow. Brooke being a bit of a weak character and Ridge being weak and irritating. And after them – Taylor being boring, weak and irritating.”

Now, whether or not the producers of The Bold and the Beautiful do decide to recast the character remains to be seen. So far they have not made any comments about the matter just yet.
