The Young And The Restless Cast Fearful Of Their Jobs?
Is The Young and the Restless cast fearful of their jobs? That’s what a lot of fans of the hit CBS soap can’t help but wonder as there seems to be several reasons behind this, too. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
The Young And The Restless Cast Fearful Of Their Jobs?
It’s no secret that it has been an uphill battle for the long-running soap. That’s because a lot of fans have been having a very hard time following any of the most recent storylines that they have been tuning out more than they’ve been tuning in.
Because of this, the ratings have been hitting one low after another, which is making producers very nervous.
And if that weren’t enough, they are also getting some major competition from the new kid in town, Beyond The Gates. So far the new soap has been getting stellar reviews. Not only that, but it seems like CBS has invested a lot of money into BTG as many critics have noticed that they have a bigger and much better set than Y&R. Plus, the clothes look like they actually come from the year 2025.
For the cast of The Young and the Restless, it wouldn’t surprise anyone if they were fearful for their jobs. After all, the daytime television market is pretty small as it is and there won’t be room for five soaps.
Sooner or later one will have to go and there’s a good chance that it will be the lowest rated one.

I have watched since day one I love this soap I will never watch the other one
Story lines are boring and long long long running. Give us some action….make story lines shorter and get some new blood! Make conversations ONE segment! Also we will never watch Beyond the gates, to black for us!!!!
I am old enough to remember the show As The World Turns which like Y&R, ran for decades. My mom was a house wife then and didn’t take a break from her work until noon which was the time ATWT came on for an hour. Mom wasn’t to be bothered unless it was a dire emergency. To me, history is repeating it’s self with Y&R. I personally will be lost if MY SHOW goes away like my mom’s. These people have been in most of my life and like family. I just hope that if it goes off the air that Courtney Hope along with most of the cast will have a job, if not in another soap, then let’s see them in some movies.
Y & R has been around a LONG time. Sometimes it has low times when the show is slow. Then it picks back up again. BTG is just like the new store in town, everyone wants to see what it’s like, those who really like it will be loyal. Others will come back to the Y&R. The Rest may watch everything all afternoon!! Lol It’s been done before! My suggestion, to make things more real life, keep in mind, not everyone dresses up to go to the park or for the day!! Dress some of these people in normal clothes!! Hahaha (Just my opinion)
[…] Compounding the issue, both women apparently lost their phones and disappeared suddenly. Factoring in that Sharon and Phyllis made contact at the same time raises red flags, but Nick and Daniel want to believe them when they said they are fine. It’s better than the alternative. […]
Maybe if the writers would get new story lines instead of the old, boring, drawn out stories, actors wouldn’t fear for their jobs! The same old Jordan, & Ian story if very stupid & boring! It is a soap opera, not a science fiction comedy! Maybe NEW writers would get NEW ideas!
