He might be tough, but that doesn’t mean he can’t shed a tear once in here and there. The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden recently got incredibly emotional but he certainly had a good reason for it. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
The Young and the Restless Star Eric Braeden Gets Incredibly Emotional For This Reason
Eric, who is best known for his role as Victor Newman on the hit CBS soap, says that seeing the new set for the show was certainly a very touching moment for him.
As many The Young and the Restless fans can recall, Sharon Newman was the one who burned down the Newman Ranch back in 2012. Thankfully, the ranch has been restored to all its glory.
Asked about the 2012 storyline, Eric told TV Insider, “It was an outrage and one of the dumbest decisions ever.”
“To be frank with you, when they asked me to take a look at it, I thought, ‘Oh, well.’ And then I sat there and I was a little overwhelmed. I really was touched because the old set meant so much to the Nikki/Victor relationship.”
“And they did a wonderful job. I was just flooded with emotions because it’s stepping back into a milieu that we’ve almost forgotten about. It touched me. It really did.”

In the same interview, Eric also said that he has no plans on retiring his character anytime soon, seeing how Victor is still front and center in many different storylines on the show.
He said, “I will not, I don’t want to. I feel very well. I really do.”
““The [bladder] cancer is under control and I will have another cystoscopy in about a month, and if that is negative, then I’ll be free for a while. It’s never gone completely. You have to always watch, but signs are very good. The new knee is fully repaired. I do squats again and power cleans again and all that.”
