The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease there are important comings and goings on the show. Even though Doug Davidson won’t return as Paul Williams, there are other thrilling comebacks on the horizon!
The Young And The Restless Spoilers: The Predicament Of Paul Williams
With the passing of Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom), there is a growing curiosity about how the show will address the storyline involving her father, Paul Williams (Doug Davidson).
Interestingly, Heather’s mother and aunt, April Stevens (Rebecca Stabb) and Barbara Ann Harding (Beth Scheffel), haven’t even been mentioned-her mother hasn’t been seen on the show since 2008.
Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) urged Paul to return to Genoa City to support Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant).
While viewers didn’t get to hear Paul’s response during that phone call, it was clear he was on board with the idea of coming back from Portugal. This led some fans to speculate about Doug Davidson possibly returning to his role, but he has made it clear in recent years that he has moved on from the show.

Davidson made it clear that he will not be returning when a fan inquired about it on X, previously known as Twitter. “First, I haven’t been asked, but my response would likely be the same as before-it’s all behind me now,” Davidson stated.
Given this, Paul might be recast; if that happened, it would likely have been announced already since filming occurs before airing.
Alternatively, they could have Paul spend time with Lucy off-screen before he returns to Portugal, or Lucy might go with him; it might be good for her to get away.
Daniel could say it was too hard for grieving Paul to attend Heather’s funeral, even though he might otherwise want to confront the situation.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Here’s Who IS Coming
There should be some onscreen explanation about Paul’s absence, but here is who IS coming: Amy Lewis (played by Valarie Pettiford) contacted Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) regarding an urgent family issue.
He will be returning home soon with some surprising news-this could likely involve a half-brother Nate was unaware of, which might lead to the introduction of a new character.
Amy Lewis is set to return to The Young and the Restless on October 29, now portrayed by Valarie Pettiford instead of Stephanie E. Williams.
Additionally, there are more returns planned, as Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) will have new scenes, and Brytni Sarpy is coming back as Elena Dawson. There aren’t any storyline details released so far for Jill and Elena.
