Yet, a lot of people still think that The Bold and the Beautiful star Rebecca Budig is rather controversial, and that’s mostly because a lot of people don’t think she fits the role of Taylor Hayes on the hit CBS soap.
And that mostly has to do with her age.
By miscasting someone like Rebecca Budig as Taylor Hayes, the show is generating the kind of buzz that will make people want to watch the show, even if it is for all of the wrong reasons.
Needless to say, the internet went off with a lot of people suggesting that the producers of the soap are purposely trying to rile up fans by making the kind of casting decisions that would light the comments section on the internet on fire.
However, back in August, Rebecca admitted that she was still getting her footing in with her new character.
She said, “I’m my own worst critic, but I’m really excited. I just hope that the fans accept me as Taylor and that it all works out. I love it. I mean, nothing’s guaranteed in this business, so I just kind of take every day as it comes.”
The Bold and the Beautiful News: What’s Next For Taylor Hayes?
In an interview with the TV Watercooler, Rebecca talked about her age difference with the last person who plays Taylor Hayes, actress Hunter Tylo.
When asked about the age difference, she said, “Well, I think that’s why I ultimately thought I wasn’t right for it! Because I was younger than Hunter, for sure.”
Rebecca continued, “There is an age difference, but that’s not for me to worry about. [Laughs] Ultimately, I’m a mom and I can relate to being a mom and caring about your kid and caring about grandkids. I’ve got many nieces and nephews that feel like my grandchildren. I think that it’s ultimately a ‘feeling’ that you relate to.”
