General Hospital spoilers reveal Dr. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) is potentially in some serious hot water after she may have tampered with Heather Webbers’s (Alley Mills) lab work.
A simple blood draw was all that was required for Heather to prove that the cobalt hip implant she had was causing her blood to be poisoned — potentially leading to her erratic and murderous behavior.
Setting Heather free isn’t a reality Portia wants to live in. She can’t seem to shut off her obsessive anxiety about her daughter — Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) — safety, despite Trina being able to roll with the punches and accept whatever form of justice a judge or jury renders.
Now that Portia has apparently taken matters into her own hands, will she be able to backpedal out of this mess before it catches up with her?
General Hospital Spoilers — A Split-Second Decision
Finding out that Heather was in the hospital was bad enough. Portia seems to cherry pick which patients deserve the maximum output of care that GH can provide.
When it comes to the woman who tried to kill her daughter, she would rather see to it that she’s in and out and back in prison where Portia believes she belongs.
But as Heather sat and waited on Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) — who never showed up — Portia became impatient. As she started the blood draw on Heather herself, it didn’t seem like she was mulling over ways to botch Heather’s case.
After all, she thought Scott had all but given up on her. Then in walked Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) promising to pick up the case and run with it.
Portia left the exam room with her anxiety peaking and a vial of blood in her hand. It seems she knew what she had to do, but will she come to regret it?
GH Spoilers Hint This Could Change Everything
Portia is Co-Chief of Staff at GH. She obviously took this matter into her own hands and went against protocol, medical ethics, and the law when she tampered with Heather’s lab sample.
It’s unclear how she pulled this off, but it appears she almost got away with it. Unfortunately for her, Ric had the good sense to have an independent lab run a blood panel on Heather too at the same time.
With wildly different results from both, Ric isn’t jumping to conclusions just yet that anything nefarious happened. But when multiple other labs confirm Heather’s reduced cobalt levels, he will.
Can Portia’s tenure and professional record help her overcome this kind of malfeasance?
General Hospital Spoilers — What Else Does Portia Stand to Lose?
It’s not just her career that Portia stands to lose. While she may be demoted or even fired from GH, she could probably still go practice somewhere else.
But if Ric and Heather take this to a medical ethics board, any chance she stands at practicing medicine may be out the window. However, she may be left feeling like she’s lost a whole lot more than the respect of her peers and her medical license.
Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) just might get sick and tired of his wife’s lies and deceit. Jeopardizing their future and livelihood wasn’t what he signed up for.
He has already forgiven so much. Can he look past this too? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
