It was announced earlier this week that Kelly Monaco, who is best known for her role as Sam McCall on the hit ABC soap, has been fired.
Of course, the real reason why Kelly Monaco was let go from the show has not been revealed, but that hasn’t stopped the internet from wondering what is really going on behind closed doors.
It goes without saying that many General Hospital fans have had a lot to say about the matter on social media.
Some even commented with, “Sorry to see Kelly get the hook, but KM has seemed like she lost energy or interest since 2020. Plus she’s been dealing with panic attacks and anxiety which has led to a few temporary absences.”
“I must say I do not support killing off Sam. These outdated shithead showrunners think this is the 70’s and a shocking death is going to draw in viewers.”
Another critic wrote, “I enjoyed Kelly outside of GH, but as a lot of you have mentioned, there was always a lack of energy and her scenes fell flat. I suppose it doesn’t help when you act opposite the power house that is Nancy.”
“However, on the flip side she also acted opposite Steve for years, so maybe the lack of pronunciation and volume wore off on her.”

Another critic wrote, “I’m sorry whenever anyone gets the hook but I gotta say it seems like she’s been phoning it in for awhile. Her scenes lack energy and it’s hard to understand her sometimes.”
“Not always a fan of the character but that can be said for all of the characters. This is a strange move I wonder are they just trying to reunite Lulu with Dante OR free up some budget for Jonathan Jackson. Is it about to be a Jason/Liz/ Lucky triangle…Again.”

IT SUCKS, don’t recast her with Linsday

She’s been a better Sam then KM for the last year or so.
I blame the writers! Her story lines have not been the best and hooking her up with Dante not such a good idea.
Sam’s character was ruined a long time ago when they started dressing her like a school marm. Do everyone a favor and get rid of Alexis.
If writers pen lack luster story lines there is nothing an actor can do about it. Dislike to say it, but the Sam character started declining when she and Jason were parted. From that point forward, the character didn’t have a decent self story line, but was just put in here and there with other character’s story lines. Viewers get what writers give, and writers haven’t supported the Sam character for the last few years.
Keep Sam on GH! Get new writers they are out of control….I may be retiring from GH myself. This is so sad to see the best soap opera in daytime being ruined. Drew & Willow this is so sick and disgusting Drew is her husband’s Uncle and Drew is also sleeping with Willows Mother! Come on talk about trashy and sinking to an all time low. Believe me I will not be watching!
Where is the petition to keep Kelly Monaco on GH as Sam? I saw an article that said sign the petition but then offered no petition.
