This is mostly because Joe Biden had a disastrous debate against Donald Trump last week. And because of the decline in his cognitive health, everyone is worried that Joe Biden might not even make it to the end of his term, let alone another four years.
But because Joe Biden is refusing to give up and his wife Jill Biden is making sure that he stays in the race, Barack Obama feels like he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands.

Even though he’s not interested in his own third term, he has to hit the campaign trail hard in an effort to make sure that Joe, or any Democrat at this point, stays in the White House.
Because the last thing that anyone wants is for Donald Trump to win in November. Barack knows that a lot of changes are going to be made if Donald is the president of the United States again and that’s the last thing that he wants to see happen.
But then again, he knows that having Joe Biden in the White House for another for years is almost impossible as well.
Obama knows that he can’t be president again, but he is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that his party remains in control. And if he has to pretend like he’s running for office himself, than so be it.
