General Hospital spoilers say that Steve Burton’s return as Jason Morgan is sparking controversy among fans, but not for the reason you might think. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
General Hospital Spoilers: Steve Burton’s Return Sparks Controversy
Apparently, a lot of fans are upset that Steve was asked to come back to the show while his former co-star Ingo Rademacher has been left in the dust. As many General Hospital fans can recall, both Steve and Ingo were let go from the ABC network back in 2021 after they both refused to comply with the vaccine mandate at the time. Ingo went on to sue ABC while Steve quietly found work over at Days of Our LIves on the Peacock network. Still, a lot of people think that Ingo should be given the same opportunity as Steve to come back to the show.
Of course, many General Hospital fans have a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some have even commented with, “I still can’t support this show or network until they apologize to Ingo and everyone else they’ve wronged,” along with, “Right or wrong, the network was following CDC guidelines at the time. Steve chose to stay on good terms, and made it clear he wanted to come back. Ingo went a different route and chose to sue the network. I miss him too, but he burned his own bridges.”
General Hospital Spoilers: Should Ingo Rademacher Come Back Too?
And then there was this comment as well: “Maybe just maybe Steve and the powers at be at the show told him if the mandate was lifted he could come back. No matter how long it took. As far as Ingo maybe they tried that with him and he decided to instead of listening to them went on a suing spree which ultimately cost him his chance to be able to return.”
So far Steve Burton himself has not made any comments about the matter.

I think they made the right decision. Sometimes in a company guidelines are put in and the employees have to comply. We may not like it but you want to work so you do it. It was a matter of freedom for Steve Burton; he wasn’t trying to be arrogant or disrespectful about it. InGo took another path and now he’s angry. At this point it’s not a good match to bring him in because he is angry. He handled things differently. Also their roles on the show were different. I wish Burton all the success he deserves. Let’s not make this into something else that it becomes sour grapes for him. Let’s wish him well!

Right or wrong is not our decision it was company policy. Ingo made it worse for himself by thinking he was more important than he is! Trash mouthing people than there was the lawsuit! Steve left with dignity, didn’t bad mouth anyone! Acted like a an and not a spoiled brat. Welcome back Steve!!
There aren’t too many companies that I know of who re-hire an employee after the employee sued them. ABC was following CDC mandated rules at the time. It was a scary time, there wasn’t a lot of knowledge/research/facts for or against the vaccines. Steve and Ingo knew by staying unvax’d they could most certainly lose their job. They chose to stay unvax’d, they chose to leave their job. Personally, I find it more detrimental that doctors and nurses were given the same ultimatum. No one is fighting to get their jobs back, just a lot of bitchin and complaining they aren’t there. Can’t have it both ways people. All actions have reactions.
If Ingo Rademacher had not of sued ABC for being fired, then he would probably have his job back to. But no, he made a different choice and decided go the wrong route. Ingo has to live with that..
