General Hospital Spoilers: Liesl Obrecht’s Been Traveling To Medical Conventions
Liesl’s been spending her time and working out her grief over her daughter, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) traveling the world going to medical conventions.
She’s been keeping her medical skills up to date and honed, even though it’s been years since she was demoted from Chief Of Staff.
Cyrus Renault relegated her to a small office in the hospital basement as a clerk during the time that he ran the show, after which Britt got promoted after Cyrus’ incarceration.
But Liesl is obviously still very interested in being a doctor, and being on the cutting edge of new medical procedures and cures-otherwise she wouldn’t have been keeping current.
In fact, Liesl’s expertise is just what might be needed to un-brainwash Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) and possibly help Finn’s father, Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison).
GH Spoilers: Experimental Procedures Have Always Been Liesl Obrecht’s Forte
Experimental procedures have always been Liesl’s forte, even back years ago when she worked in Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) medical clinics.
Who’s to say that she hasn’t learned of some cutting-edge experimental treatments for diseases like ALS, which Gregory has, or other rare afflictions?
The only doctor who has any training in any kind of rare diseases is Finn, and there hasn’t been a neurologist on staff since Griffin Munroe (Matt Cohen) moved away.
Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) knows something about brainwashing but not as much as Liesl or perhaps, Andre Maddox (Anthony Montgomery) but he’s living abroad. General Hospital could really use Liesl’s expertise and she deserves her job back.
General Hospital Spoilers: Doctor, Doctor, Need An MD
Liesl was able to handle the hospital even though she missed Britta and was grieving her when she donated her bone marrow to save her great-niece Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen).
Liesl has her, her children and her niece Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) there in town and of course her grandson James West (Gary James Fuller).
She may be working through tremendous grief but she’s not an orphan in a storm by any means, and saving the lives of others may help her heal.
Liesl has a different way of dealing with loss and grief than others have-she tries to be stoic but it’s not working for her. She needs to be back at the hospital, working and being productive and saving the lives of others.
