By now, there is no doubt that General Hospital fans know of the passing of Billy Miller. He was one of the most beloved actors in the daytime television world. He was known for his role as Drew Cain on General Hospital and also as Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless. But it was the ‘real’ Billy that everyone loved so much. Unfortunately, the actor was dealing with some major inner demons that very few people knew about. Here’s what you need to know.
General Hospital News: Billy Miller’s Life After Daytime
The last time that fans got to see Billy on the small screen was in 2019. At the time, no one knew that it would be the last time that they would see the actor on daytime television altogether. At the time, he sent a message to his fans that said, “With a slight air of sadness, it is time to ponder what ‘Goodbye’ means. However, instead of dwelling on what is gone and sure to be missed, there is another way. Maybe our goodbye is really a remembrance of love felt, an appreciation for lives shared, and the lifelong reminisces that come from embraces given and received.”
Many fans also noticed that Billy stopped sharing photos and messages on his social media accounts. No one really knew what he was doing, where he was living or what steps he was taking in his career for that matter. He also never gave out any interviews. However, if there was one person that he remained very close to, it was Kelly Monaco. The two of them did several fan appearances together. She is also someone who has remained by his side through the good times and the bad.
General Hospital News: Billy Will Be Missed By His Co-Stars
While there is no doubt that the soap world is still in mourning, it appears as though there were few people who really knew what he was going through behind closed doors. However, there were some close friends who supported him both on camera and off. One of them happened to be his Y&R co-star Elizabeth Hendrickson. Soon after he died, Elizabeth wrote on Instagram, “We didn’t text or talk often. But I’m glad the last couple times we did, we had a great banter like we used to. I knew that we always held a special place in each other’s hearts, no matter what.”
Clearly, Billy had a lot of people that loved him in his life. There’s no doubt that he will forever be missed in the daytime television world.
