General Hospital spoilers say that one of the most memorable pregnancy storylines included Carly Corinthos’ journey to motherhood. And just like every other storyline that we get to see in this fictional town of Port Charles, it was one with plenty of bumps along the day. Here’s what you need to know.
General Hospital: All About Carly Corinthos’ Pregnancy
Back in 2019, Carly and Sonny shocked General Hospital fans when it was revealed that she was expecting yet another child! Some fans thought this was a way of closing one chapter with the death of their son Morgan Corinthos and opening up another. But Laura’s pregnancy wasn’t without drama. When the couple did prenatal testing, they found out that their baby had Spina Bifida. At one point it sounded like the baby’s birth defect was so severe Carly’s child would be in danger.
Well, the birth was just as dramatic as Carly out of nowhere was rushed to the hospital. At one point it almost seemed like she was going to give birth on The Haunted Star. Unfortunately, Sonny Corinthos was nowhere in sight but there was one person who was able to support Carly all the way: her best friend at the time, Jason Morgan.
Thankfully, Carly’s labor scene was not as dramatic as you often see on daytime television shows. When Sonny arrived, the couple decided to name their newborn daughter Donna.
General Hospital: Laura Wright Was Not Pregnant In Real Life
Also, it was noted that Carly’s pregnant baby bump looked so real on General Hospital that actress Laura Wright had to deny all of the rumors suggesting that she was pregnant as well. Because her social media followers kept asking her about the pregnancy speculation, Laura posted a photo of herself and her boyfriend Wes Ramsey and wrote, “Oh, I love this man but we are not pregnant! Only Carly! Thank you for loving and supporting us, though!”
If that weren’t enough, when she wrote back in 2018 that she was craving french toast, Laura had to squash the pregnancy rumors yet again. She said, “I was just craving french toast. That’s all.”
It goes without saying that General Hospital fans will have to tune in to find out what happens next. Watch this space as we have a feeling there is so much more to come.
