General Hospital spoilers tease the family business is bound to suffer, as Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) recovers from his injuries, with no insight into how long he may be out of commission. Every Quartermaine knows how this works. ELQ comes first. They might talk a good game, but the family can’t thrive if the business isn’t. With Ned down and out, they need to make some decisions about who speaks for him while he is otherwise unavailable. Some might think that decision has already been outlined. Certainly, a family as affluent and important as the Quartermaines would outline such details out in advance of any tragedy. But that’s not how it’s going to play out. Serious turmoil and debate lie ahead as the family argues over what happens with Ned’s shares and ELQ if he can never return to his seat at the board.
General Hospital Spoilers — Who Acts on Ned’s Behalf?
It would make the most sense if the business would already have addressed this issue. But in the land of Port Charles, we know that’s not always the case. Would Ned’s shares default to being in Olivia Quartermaine’s hands in the event that any tragedy would befall him? His mother, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), might not be happy about that. Other members of the board and family might agree with her in certain situations. However, most everyone except Tracy does trust Olivia.
GH Spoilers Leak Valentin Plans to Negotiate
In more recent years, Ned has made an ally out of Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) — the newest shareholder at ELQ. Some fans have run with the theory that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will run to Valentin for help in silencing Ned. Clearly, she can’t run to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) for that kind of help right now. Valentin may end up in Nina‘s corner, agreeing to fork over his shares of ELQ to Ned in exchange for his silence on what Nina has done – reporting Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Drew Can (Cameron Mathison) to the SEC. But that would only leave Ned with more shares of ELQ, and as such, Valentin’s plan may be botched when other family members balk at Ned taking on more control of the company when he’s allegedly in no position to.
General Hospital Spoilers — Tracy Takes Advantage
Tracy could take advantage of the situation, and it’s clearly not beyond her to do such, even when her son is in dire straits. When Ned was lying on the floor of the Metro Court pool room, having CPR performed and unconscious, she still sought to pin a crime on Drew that he didn’t commit. Tracy is always working an angle, and she’s been banking on fixing ELQ ever since she came back to town. Pretending she wants nothing to do with the family business is just a ruse. Rather, Tracy is focused on taking Drew down so that the family can absorb his shares. It’s likely that her interest in Deception is also a means to target its primary investor, Valentin, as well as Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring). Will Tracy try to stake a claim on Ned’s shares in case he can never cast his vote again? Stay tuned for more GH news on spoilers to find out.
