Young and the Restless Spoilers: If Diane Doesn’t Press Charges, Would Phyllis Still Go To Jail?

Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) may be in very hot water if and when she returns to Genoa City. With that being said, she killed Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) in self-defense, so would she face murder charges upon her return?

Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) also once faked her death, and she didn’t wind up in jail (although many fans online argue that this is because of the statute of limitation on the crime committed).

Regardless, if Diane decides to not press charges, would Phyllis face any prison time?

Y&R Spoilers: Time To Bury The Hatchet With This Feud

Y&R spoilers hint that this storyline might finally be winding down. Since Diane returned to Genoa City last year, she and Phyllis have been at it, and it would be nice if the two ladies finally buried the hatchet. It doesn’t look like Ms. Jenkins is heading out of town anytime soon, so wouldn’t it be nice if these two could try and co-exist in GC and simply be civil? Even ignoring each other would work, too, at this point.

Diane didn’t face any repercussions when she faked her death. Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) life got turned upset down, just as bad as Jenkins’s recently did. If Diane truly has changed, the best thing would be for her to refrain from pressing charges and extend an olive branch.

Y&R Spoilers: D.A. Christine Blair Is Raging

Still, Phyllis has a little problem in that her old nemesis, Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell), who also happens to be Genoa City’s District Attorney. The D.A. is raging at the idea that Red may get off scot-free for yet another crime. Cricket was ready to nail Diane to the wall for Phyllis’s death and there’s nothing the attorney hates more than being wrong. It also likely irks her that Ms. Summers duped her, too. She may try to go after Phyllis from a city perspective and hold her accountable for all the resources GC pulled out for this “fake” investigation.

If Diane decides against charges, could Phyllis become a free woman? Comment below! Check out the CBS soap daily to see what happens next and visit this site for the most recent Young and the Restless news, spoilers, and updates.
