Are there just too many day players on this hit daytime television show? That’s what some fans can’t help but wonder as it seems like Days of Our Lives might have gone a little overboard with all of their castings lately. In other words, some fans believe that there are way too many characters on the show and just too many storylines which is making it very hard to focus on just one particular plot. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
DOOL POLL: Are There Too Many Characters On Days Of Our Lives Now?
Is there just too much drama and not enough substance? That’s what some Days of Our Lives fans are beginning to believe. A new poll suggests that fans are having a hard time keeping up with all of the new introductions lately, from Megan to Dimitri and everyone in between. It’s almost as if the show’s writers keep adding branches to the DiMera Family tree. It keeps on growing and just won’t stop!
Of course, there sure were a lot of Days of Our Lives fans and critics that had a lot to say about the matter. When asked if the show is spending too much time investing storyline time with multiple characters (that seem to depart Salem faster than they’ve arrived), some commented with, “Yes they are! They need to bring back Bo and Hope! The same storylines are being told over and over. There are just a few Hortons and Brady’s on screen which is unacceptable! We need more character driven storyline,” along with, “YES!!! Get rid of Sloan, her brother, Li, Wendy, Leo, Gabi, Rafe, Stefan, Kristen, Jada, Talia, Kate, & Roman. Give contracts to BO & HOPE, Belle, Shawn, Andrew, Paul. Get some vets like Carrie, Austin, CR’ Eve, Kimberly, Shane, MR’s Jennifer to return.”
Another fan wrote, “I think Days really needs to invest in more Horton’s. Glad Sarah is back. But we need Abby back in the next year. Also maybe Jeremy or JJ. Would also love Claire and Theo back. It’s time for Leo, Gwen, Li, and Tripp to go.”
DOOL Spoilers: What’s Next For Our Favorite Salemites?
And then there was this comment, too: “I’m letting my Peacock subscription lapse when it’s up in August. I’ll be back if they put more concentration on legacy characters AND bring back Bo & Hope frequently with a GOOD storyline. They need to focus more on the couples that matter and build real stories that keep people hanging on, not waste time on mediocre characters with no or little pay off.”
