The Young and the Restless star Mark Grossman has opened up about Adam Newman like he’s never opened up before. And apparently he likes the guy just as much as Y&R fans do! Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
The Young and the Restless Star Mark Grossman Opens Up About The Real Adam Newman
In an interview with Soaps.com, the handsome actor said that when he first took on the role of Adam Newman, he would have some very big shoes to fill. After all, he was taking over from Justin Hartley, who was immensely popular before he left the show. Not only that, but Mark says that he was also trying to figure out who the real Adam was, too. He told the site, “It really was hard for me to form my own opinion of who Adam was in the beginning. I was just trying to try to get on the train and learn how things worked on such a fast-moving show.”
Mark continued, “Over time, I was able to settle into the role and try to shape who I think this character is. Regardless of what’s written, I’m always trying to stay true to who the character is at his core. As an actor, that allows you to really open things up and try to drill down on the motivation of why he did what he did.”
In other words, it sounds as though Mark has done one hell of a job of making Adam Newman a character of his own. And a lot of The Young and the Restless fans and viewers would certainly agree with that, too. No matter what Adam has done in the past, it seems like Mark has managed to redeem him and make him someone that fans are rooting for.
