Robin took to her Twitter account to write, “#LongCovid is long. Sadly my energy ebbs & flows, disturbingly leading me back to bed. But no matter what I’ll be UP-in a nice outfit-cute hat-all my ID in my purse-& head to #NYPS6 to #Vote November 9th. I love to #Vote-it’s both a privilege & an honor to be a citizen!”

“I miss OLTL and will to my dying day. I’m not well after catching breakthrough COVID four weeks ago,” confessed the actress, who has been an outspoken supporter of the coronavirus vaccine and boosters. “Apparently, now I’ve got Long COVID, which means recuperation is going to take a long time. I’ll try my best but frankly, I’m really bummed out. Thank you for asking, Debbie.”

General Hospital actress Emma Samms is another daytime television star who has been dealing with Long Covid. Emma first contracted COVID-19 back in March 2020 and while the virus did pass  through her body, some of the symptoms had stayed. “It has been a slow learning process of consequences,” she explains. “If I do something of any physical exertion, there will be a price to pay for it. Sometimes the price is just that I get a sore throat. Sometimes it’s just that I feel really tired. Sometimes I get that plus a whole bunch of other symptoms, including not being able to breathe properly and having a really constricted chest. A lot of the time, it feels like there’s an elephant sitting on my chest. It’s just the most uncomfortable feeling, and every now and then I find myself sort of gasping, trying to fill my lungs with enough air.”

That said, Emma added that she’s happy to help educate the public about her illness. However, she added, “I never thought I would find myself as the face of a disabling disease. I’ve always been the strong one in my family — the active one, the person who’s always got at least three or four things on the go.”
