The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Eric Braeden Slams Rumors That He Is Being Written Off The Show

The Young and the Restless spoilers say that you shouldn’t believe everything that you read (unless, of course, it’s on Soap Spoiler). Eric Braeden, who plays the formidable Victor Newman, recently set the record straight about his status on the show after rumors swirled that he was being written off the CBS daytime television series. Here’s what you need to know.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Eric Braeden Slams Rumors That He Is Being Written Off The Show

Eric, in very Victor Newman fashion, took to his Twitter account to write, “Please, don’t fall for someone’s rumor that I have been written off! If that were the case, I’D TELL YOU MYSELF, TRUST ME!!”

Of course, it didn’t take long at all for both The Young and the Restless fans and critics alike to respond to his Twitter post. Many of them wrote, “If there is one voice I trust in the Soap industry it’s yours. I know you have absolutely no fear of reprisal,” along with, “There’s no chance you would walk away from #YR but I know nothing last forever. Just stay as long as you feel it’s right for you. You know I’m thinking of Kristoff St. John & Jeanne Cooper… that kind of loyalty is very well deserving you know.”

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: What’s Next For Victor?

Back in March, Braeden had some choice words about the “old regime” behind the scenes at The Young and the Restless. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest at the time, Eric hinted that a few years ago there were some producers that wanted to take the soap in a different direction, and that direction was without Victor Newman in the forefront.

“What the last regime really wanted, to be frank with you, was to get rid of me and get rid of Melody [Thomas Scott, Nikki], if you want to know the truth.”

Apparently, this all came after Eric had pressed the writers at the time and asked, “When are we going to see Victor be Victor?”

In response, Eric said, “The last regime introduced things that no one gave a damn about, okay? Let’s call a spade a spade. No one gave a damn about some of those storylines, no one, because they were not part of the history of that show! I hate to say it, but obviously, the Newman empire is one of the main cornerstones of the show.”
