British Royal News: Here’s Why ‘Meghan Markle Is A Grifter’ Is Trending On Twitter
The Duchess of Sussex is getting criticized – and hard – for her latest Archetypes podcast in which she talked about female Asian stereotypes in Hollywood. The Duchess of Sussex explained, “Movies like Austin Powers and *Kill Bill—*they presented these caricatures of women of Asian descent as oversexualized or aggressive.”
If that weren’t enough, she also said that these are just two examples of many, adding, “This toxic stereotyping of women of Asian descent…this doesn’t just end once the credits roll.”

Hollywood actress Margaret Cho, who was her guest star on the podcast, also added that the Dragon Lady stereotype originated in the fantasy of Orientalism.” She said, “Meghan explained, “Movies like Austin Powers and *Kill Bill—*they presented these caricatures of women of Asian descent as oversexualized or aggressive.” She noted that these are just two examples of many, adding, “This toxic stereotyping of women of Asian descent…this doesn’t just end once the credits roll.”
Of course, it didn’t take long at all for Meghan’s critics to weigh in on the matter on social media. Many of them wrote, “Thank you Meghan for teaching me, a simple Asian woman, about Asian stereotypes from 20 years ago. Now do Arab women.. but leave the blood diamonds at home, yeah?” along with, “Can we do Sicilians next and the stereotype that all of us are in the mafia? I’d love her insight on that.”
Another critic wrote, “I’m so ready for her to do South African women! Without her expensive rings on, of course.”
So far Meghan herself has not made any comments about the criticism, although it’s doubtful that anything will be said at this point. The Duchess pressed the pause button on her podcast for about a month following Queen Elizabeth’s death back on September 8th.
