General Hospital spoilers say that while it might seem like they are gone, that doesn’t mean they are gone forever. Of course, we are talking about Esme who is presumed to be dead, but actually left Port Charles for Paris. The character’s portrayer Avery Pohl recently opened up about her return to the soap. Here’s what you need to know!
General Hospital News: Avery Pohl Opens Up About Her Port Charles Comeback
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the actress admitted that she got a heads up about her comeback far in advance and before everyone found out that she would be written off the show.
Avery put it this way, “Our executive producer, Frank Valentini was like, ‘Hey, by the way, I don’t want you to freak out, but we are writing you off the canvas for a little bit.’ I had no other context for a while. Then, later, he told me, ‘You are being shoved off the parapet.’ And then he later told me Ava was going to be the one who did it. From there, it was just sort of me always trying to find out new information because your brain sort of spins and scrambles when you hear something like that. You’re like, ‘Well, how long will it be until I come back?’ There’s a lot of questions that come to mind.”
General Hospital News: What’s Next For Esme?
And because she hasn’t been on the set of the soap for awhile, Avery admits that it did take some time for her to get in the groove of things. She said, “I definitely felt rusty. But by the time I had shot a few episodes, I felt way more back into the groove. THere was really just one day where I was like, ‘Ugh, I could have done better.’”
The actress added, “For me, it is so much fun to get to play her and understand her and I truly, truly love getting to work with everyone at work and to get to do this insane thing, which is playing pretend for a living.”
