General Hospital Spoilers tease Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) is headed home from the hospital — but not before she swings by to see her murderous ex, Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom). Ava is trying to heal from the wounds her husband, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) has left her with, and they run deeper than any hook could ever reach her. Why would she want to add to her grief by stopping by to see the man who killed her daughter, Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin)?
A Pattern Emerges
Ava has found herself in familiar territory in Port Charles. On the brink of divorce and grieving the loss of the happily ever after she thought she was going to have with the good prince Nikolas, Ava is ready to get back on her feet. Wallowing isn’t where she’s most comfortable. That being said, whenever something horrible happens in Ava’s life, she tends to default to thinking Ryan could somehow be behind it. Could he?
It would certainly make sense that Ryan — who has fooled everyone by pretending to be locked-in — would retaliate against Ava, but would he really want to risk her life? Ryan’s ultimate goal has always been to separate Ava from her beloved Nik, and he’s recently succeeded with the help of his daughter, Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl). However, Ryan’s feelings may have shifted if he knows Ava may have killed Emsé, though it’s more likely he suspects something has gone wrong and doesn’t know whether the subject of his adoration, or her husband, is responsible.
Either way, it will shock every resident of Port Charles when they come to find Ryan isn’t really locked-in after all and has been biding his time in lock-up this whole time waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. If Ryan feels he’s lost the advantage of having Esmé to do his dirty work for him, he may be inclined to take matters back into his own hands. Or, hand, that is. The symbolism with the hook and Ryan’s missing hand is pretty on the nose, but The Hooker is clearly someone short and thin. Could Esmé still be acting on Ryan’s behalf?
General Hospital Spoilers — Ava’s Threat
As it turns out, the pattern of behavior with Ava will continue. Why has she dropped by to check in on Ryan? Could it be that Ava is paranoid once again that Ryan has something to do with her attack? Perhaps, and Ava will doubt her suspicions. After all, it wasn’t long ago that the string of events she blamed on the locked-in Ryan were actually happening at the hands of Esmé and Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez). Can Ava trust her own instincts?
She should! When the truth comes to light, Ava will realize her instincts were right all along. She just knew Ryan was behind all of it! For now, she may not understand why her instincts are leading her to the psychopathic murderer she once thought she loved. She might chalk it up to lingering PTSD from the death of her sweet daughter and the way Ryan traumatized her in the months following. Little does Ava know, her gut has got her back.
GH Spoilers Hints
It might not be a healthy urge that Ava has to keep making sure Ryan really is locked-in and locked up, but she can’t rest with the hairs on her neck standing up and insisting he is somehow involved. How will Ava react when she finds out he is? Will her trauma make her victim, or will the heroine Ava rise to the occasion in true Jerome style?
