British Royal News says that they claim not to watch it but apparently, they are very aware of it. There’s a new report that says Buckingham Palace is very worried about Netflix’s The Crown Season 5. That’s because there’s concern among King Charles’ aides that the series will paint him in a very bad light. Here’s what you need to know.
British Royal News: Buckingham Palace Is Very Worried About Netflix’s The Crown Season 5 For This Reason
According to The Telegraph, royal insiders say that the palace is worried about how exploitive the show will looks like even though the series has often said that it is “a drama and not a documentary.”
As many royal fans already know, the new season of The Crown ends with Princess Diana and Prince Charles basically going into a war over their marriage and their divorce. Not only that, but it looks like Camilla Parker Bowles will also be a huge part of the storyline, too. In one trailer, Diana and Charles are seen getting ready for respective television interviews. “This is becoming all-out war,” says one voiceover, tying in nicely to the last episode’s title.
Of course, many royal fans have taken to social media to weigh in on the matter. Some commented with, “I’m sure the producers of The Crown think the BRF are worried. It’s good pub for them . I doubt the BRF are too worried. The Crown has largely been showing the BRF in a positive light. I just hope they stop with the gratuitous barf scenes of Diana. She was bulimic, we get it. The show is supposed to be about The Crown, not Diana. I was really disappointed they didn’t go deeper into the IRA and Mountbatten. It deserved a full episode, IMO.”
British Royal News: What’s Next For The Royals?
Another critic wrote, “What’s interesting is that it was also a period where the Queen screwed up quite badly – despite all the eulogies about how she “always knew the right thing to do”, etc etc. I don’t mean behind the scenes (although you could argue she made some fairly significant errors there *cough* Andrew *cough*) but publicly, when Diana died; she and the rest of the BRF completely misjudged the public response and Tony Blair had to have a word and persuade her to lower the flags, make a statement and so on. I can’t imagine Charles is super-keen to have all of that re-broadcast.”
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter.
