Yikes. This certainly won’t bode well for her at all. There are new reports that say Another World Alum Anne Heche was under the influence of cocaine during the time of her car crash in Los Angeles this past week. That, and her situation seems to be getting more dire by the day. Here’s what you need to know.
Anne Heche Update: Another World Alum Under the Influence Of Cocaine During Crash
According to the LAPD, the soap star’s blood test results came up positive for both cocaine and fentanyl. However, it’s been noted that fentanyl might have been administered to Heche at the hospital to help manage her pain after the accident. There was no trace of alcohol in her system, though.
If that weren’t enough, Heche is still fighting for her life. Her condition right now is “dire” and she has not improved since she was admitted to the hospital. “Shortly after the accident, Anne Heche became unconscious, slipping into a coma,” her spokesperson shared. “She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention.”
Heche’s representative has said that she has not been able to meet with investigators yet as a result of her injuries. Yet, friends of the woman whose home was destroyed in the crash say she “narrowly escaped physical harm.”
What’s Next For Anne Heche?
Many daytime television fans remember Anne the best as twins Vicky Hudson and Marley Love on Another World, which she was on from 1987 to 1991. She also earned a Daytime Emmy Award for her role. Anne then made her way to Hollywood and starred in films such as Donnie Brasco, Six Days Seven Nights, and Wag the Dog. Back in 2001, Anne opened up to ABC News about some of the mental issues and abuse she had endured as a child. She said, “I’m not crazy. But it’s a crazy life. I was raised in a crazy family and it took 31 years to get the crazy out of me.”
She also added, “I think everything I’ve done in all my insanity was to try to get my parents to love me. My father loved movie stars. I decided I needed to become famous to get his love. My mother loved Jesus. That was her thing. So I wanted to become Jesus Christ. I drank. I smoked. I did drugs. I had sex with people. I did anything I could to get the shame out of my life.”
