Days of Our Lives fans are used to some big cliffhanger moments and especially when the highly rated daytime television show is expected to take a break. But according to DOOL writer Ron Carlivati, it hasn’t happened this time but there’s a good reason for it. Here’s what you need to know!
Days of Our Lives News: Ron Carlivati Explains Why The Soap Was Left With No Cliffhangers Before The Olympics
Days of Our Lives has been preempted since Friday, February 4th, the full week of February 7-11th, and then the following week February 14-18th. A new episode of DOOL won’t return until Monday, February 21st.
Of course, a lot of fans can’t help but wonder why their favorite residents of this fictional town of Salem were left without any cliffhangers before the show was preempted for the 2022 Winter Olympics. In fact, one fan even tweeted, “They do know. That’s why these huge cliffhangers use to happen all the time. #Days has always taped months in advance and was able to deliver huge cliffhangers. It just seemed to change with the change in writers.”
That’s when Carlivati decided to respond to the tweet with a clarification that said, “We did not know until well after these episodes were written and taped that we would be preempted for the Winter Olympics.”
Days of Our Lives News: What’s Next For Salem?
Days of Our Lives spoilers say that right before the preemption, the show did leave fans something to think about before they take their time-out from the network. Of course, many fans are already speculating over what’s to come in this fictional town of Salem. Some have taken to their social media accounts to write, “Is the Devil taking a break and jumping into Belle’s body? Or is someone wearing a Belle mask now?” along with, “Ava is all over the place from her alliance with Gwen to destroying Rafe and Nicole. The couple never should’ve been a couple to begin with. I rather see her involved with EJ, but he’s occupied with Belle. I hope they’re not going THERE with the men sharing because of Shawn falsely sleeping with Jan.”
Of course, the writers of Days of Our Lives have made no comments about any of the spoilers or storyline speculation.
