Her strategy is to keep poaching talent from her oldest sister’s family business because apparently no other fashion house anywhere in the world has any available talent.
Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) remains irate that her youngest sister betrayed her trust.
In Brooke’s mind, Katie wasn’t allowed to accept Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) remarriage gift, use their family name, or ever use similar business practices that Forrester Creations did through the soapy years.
Devoted fans know the Forrester family’s fashion business existed long before the soap opera premiered in 1987.
The audience also knows that Eric Forrester (John McCook) and Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) did whatever it took to build their business, just like Katie is doing and Bill is backing.
Here’s the truth: Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) are responsible for the turmoil FC finds itself in. They daytime buck stops with them and no one else.
Additional responsibility can be shared with the living co-founder and Chairman Emeritus, Eric.
Logan wouldn’t have surged into the public’s consciousness without his bitter break from the family business and foolish offering of his latest work to Katie.
Steffy was completely distracted by personal matters, and that was before she and Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) created a baby.
Her participation in that cover-up, which Carter is pushing for an immediate surrogacy ruse, will almost certainly cause Wood’s character to remain unfocused on business.
Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) is disillusioned. He was forlorn when Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle) left FC and went to Logan. Her decision meant that the work he painstakingly created was lost.
Now, after months of floundering, Zende finds himself answering to Ridge’s son. RJ Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti) is significantly younger than his cousin and has no experience.
The Electra line is RJ’s brainstorm answer to Logan stealing Hope. But Brooke’s opinion, which is fully shared by Ridge and Steffy, has alienated Zende.
The role Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) played in facilitating Zende’s conversation with Katie and Hope feels like the setup to either Katie offering her a job, Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) demanding her best friend turned enemy be fired, or both.
Katie’s strategy is to build her business based on acquiring existing talent that’s all coming from one source, FC. So, the Forrester family can squawk all it wants, but her strategy is producing major results.
Hope’s line at Logan has quickly become a cash cow. That success will likely accelerate if she’s able to reconcile her working relationship with Zende.
Meanwhile, the Forresters have no plan of attack or counterattack. Unless that changes, one of the world’s best-known fashion businesses will continue to sink while Logan rises.
