The pair is engaged in an intense, clandestine romance that’s becoming increasingly passionate, with neither willing to end their affair.
Kyle and Victoria must keep their relationship secret, but secrets inevitably surface. This week, they reunited at Riverbend Motel for an intimate encounter where Victoria took charge, blindfolding Kyle and using ice cubes in playful ways.
Both admit they can’t stop thinking about each other and don’t want to end the affair, yet they recognize that exposure would trigger catastrophic consequences. The question becomes: who would be the worst person to discover their secret?
Claire Grace Newman (Hayley Erin) tops the list. As Kyle’s first love and ex-fiancée whose virginity he took, Claire would understandably feel betrayed learning he’s involved with her mother. However, she likely wouldn’t explode in rage.
Having already moved forward with Holden Novak (Nathan Owens), Claire would probably process the news with shock rather than fury. She’d listen to their explanations about not intending to hurt her, though her perspective on both would shift permanently.
Rather than create conflict, Claire might simply move out of the Newman house, giving Victoria and Kyle privacy while establishing her own space with Holden. Of course, Claire could potentially spiral like her aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) and seek revenge on Victoria-after all, Jordan raised and conditioned her to be a weapon against the Newmans.
This incident might trigger that darker side.-that said, Claire has genuinely evolved and won’t pursue vengeance against Kyle and Victoria, though anything’s possible.
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) would likely handle this better than most-she’d be horrified discovering Victoria with Kyle, partly fearing the fallout for Claire.
Nikki would probably confront Victoria: “Of all people, why Kyle? Why invite the man who almost married your daughter into your bed?” But Nikki’s real worry would be Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) reaction;Victoria entangled with yet another Abbott man.
Victor harbors deep resentment toward Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), which creates complications.
Should Nikki discover Kyle and Victoria together, she’d likely stay silent to avoid hurting Claire or angering Victor, but would warn Victoria directly: “Stop this before it triggers a family war.”
Victoria’s brother Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) presents another risk; if Nick learns about Victoria and Kyle’s affair, he’d shift into protective mode, judging them both for recklessness and the potential conflict it could spark.
Though Nick battles daily to remain sober, discovering this wouldn’t necessarily drive him back to pills-though it might strain his recovery. Victoria would likely counter that Nick’s own romantic decisions aren’t exemplary. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) could also uncover the affair.
The old, ruthless Adam would’ve exploited this leverage, but he and Victoria have since made peace after years of tension.
Now Adam values their functional sibling bond, making him a safer confidant; he’d likely keep the secret, especially from Victor, knowing their father would react explosively.
We should also consider an Abbott discovering them-one of Kyle’s relatives could catch him with Victoria; recall that Kyle first slept with Victoria in Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) Jabot office.
They’re currently meeting at a motel, but Victoria might seduce Kyle in the Jabot office again; if Jack walks in on them, it would be problematic. Victoria could visit Kyle at work, they get intimate, forget to lock the door, and Jack or Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) catches them.
Diane would be horrified; both parents might suspect Victoria is manipulating Kyle for an anti-Abbott scheme.
Jack would likely scold Kyle for recklessness, knowing Victor would retaliate and escalate the family conflict-however, if Kyle and Victoria develop genuine feelings, Jack would eventually accept their relationship.
Picture the worst-case outcome: Victor Newman catching Kyle with Victoria-his response would be catastrophic; he’d order Kyle to remove his hands from his daughter and immediately commence destroying him-both personally and professionally.
He’d also penalize Victoria, despite her recent quip about being due for another disownment, which might prove accurate. Victor’s deep-seated animosity toward Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) means he’d interpret Victoria’s involvement with another Abbott as an inexcusable betrayal.
Repercussions could involve removing Victoria as Newman CEO, expelling her from the ranch, and launching an assault on the entire Abbott family.
These are measures Nikki would resist but Victor would likely enforce regardless-the optimal scenario would involve anyone except Victor discovering this relationship!
