A month-plus before Halloween would seem like premature timing to see Zenk return to the screen as a ghostly presence, especially considering that a notorious villain is still alive and a major threat in Genoa City, Wisconsin.

So, why have Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) stare into the abyss of her smartphone screen, as is the bent of all who are controlled by the powers of the machine?

Okay, the above was a bit over the top regarding the use of technology in GC, but it was meant to be like something Jordan would tell Claire when she controlled her mind.

But really, why are viewers being asked to recall a character who last appeared in January 2025?

Colleen Zenk Rightly Ranks Highly

Of course, this actor will be best remembered for her portrayal of Barbara Ryan (Zenk) on As the World Turns from 1978 through its end in 2010. She was nominated three times for her work on that beloved daytime drama.

It’s reasonable to assume that this actor could have earned a first-ever statue if she had allowed her name to be included in the Guest Performance category of the upcoming Daytime Emmy nominations.

To think that Zenk’s work hasn’t garnered an Emmy at this point in her career is surprising. However, that doesn’t diminish the standard she’s set or the work of her colleagues that she’s no doubt elevated.

Jordan Howard Drank Poison And Died

Jordan’s manipulative partner in crime, Ian Ward (Ray Wise), isn’t dead like she is. He was believed to have died at the Newman Ranch, but viewers were allowed to see Ian awaken while being driven to the morgue.

Wise did submit his name into the Guest Performance category for the upcoming Emmy Awards that are scheduled to be held on October 30. This outstanding and versatile actor has been nominated twice and won the Emmy in this category for his portrayal of Ian in 2015.

So, any gaslighting of Claire could prove to be Ian if the writing staff is working in that direction. Viewers will soon learn if Erin’s character is responding to an irritant that merely reminds her of Jordan.

Patty Williams Disappears But Isn’t Dead Yet

Talk of Jordan’s demise was intentional because that outcome could befall Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk). She remains on the run from the law and will certainly revisit unfinished business before this villain’s latest return ends.

Speaking of the Emmy Awards, this actor also ranks with the best of her generation. She’s been nominated on four occasions, including in this upcoming ceremony for her work on Days of our Lives as Kristen DiMera (Haiduk)

Patty is currently intending to use Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) to reach her goals. Howarth is nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Performance Category.

It’s his sixth nomination, across various categories, with his first (1994) resulting in the actor’s only Emmy win to date for his portrayal of Todd Manning (Howarth) on One Life to Live. Howarth played Paul Ryan on As the World Turns, and Zenk’s character, Barbara, was his mother.
