He considers him to be like a brother, not knowing that Carter is now related through a genetic family tie.
Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) is close with her daughter. Despite her defying Steffy Forrester Finnegan’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) plea that she would stop seeing Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan), Taylor realized that relationship.
Steffy’s fears about Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) responding violently, based on her pattern of doing so across the decades, didn’t come to fruition. That sets the soapy stage for Sheila to take her redemption push one major step further.
One of the more unusual storylines in recent years had Carter conspire with the then-Hope Logan (Annika Noelle), whom he cared for at that time in the plot. He created legal documents with specialized language that Ridge and Steffy overlooked and then signed.
The result of that event put Carter in control of Forrester Creations. He then worked with Hope, and together they ran the business for a short period until Carter’s guilt caused him to voluntarily undo that purposeful deception.
Ridge forgave Carter. It took a while, but Kaye’s character was serious about moving forward, and they did. Viewers can only imagine what will happen when Ridge learns about Carter’s paternity.
Ridge abandoned Taylor on multiple occasions across the daytime years. He often made that choice so he could return to Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang).
Taylor was hurt by Ridge’s most recent heartbreak, but her heart didn’t break this time, with a wink to the storyline where that actual syndrome was used. Instead, Budig’s character accepted Ridge’s ninth marriage to Brooke, which is an outrageous number even in the soap world.
Deacon came along at the right time. He charmed Taylor, who fell in love with him. But she did reject his engagement ring, saying that they didn’t need to do that at this point in their lives.
Taylor’s apparent message, at least at this point, is that she isn’t willing to make that type of a public commitment, citing Steffy’s anticipated reaction as a reason.
Sheila will realize a prime opportunity if all goes right. In this scenario, that means she will need to become aware that Steffy conceived Carter’s child.
That type of explosive revelation would likely be learned through eavesdropping or some classic Sheila sleuthing. Assuming she obtains that information. Brown’s character would be in a position of power.
What better way to regain access to Finn than by telling Steffy that she knows the truth? So, Sheila could either use that knowledge as blackmail or serve as a supporter when Finn inevitably learns about this hidden betrayal.
