Daphne Walton (Murielle Hilarie) is optimistic and even joyful because she thinks her marriage has been restored.
Finn loves the family that he and his wife have created. He’s now willing to cut his birth mother out of his life completely because Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) refuses to allow Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) to be in contact with her, their children, the rest of the Forrester family, or him.
Daphne took full responsibility for what she called losing her head and appearing to have ended her marriage to Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor). But like Steffy, she recanted a decision that was made in the heat of the daytime moment.
It would have been a stretch to show two marriages falling apart within weeks or even months of each other.
Considering the short list of characters on this half-hour steamer, and then add that Steffy and Daphne decided their marriages couldn’t be sustained at the same time in this version of Los Angeles, California.
So, suspending disbelief allows viewers to swallow what they saw and heard. The parallel dissolution scenarios were necessary so that Steffy could jet home, boozed and in haste, to find Carter at Forrester Creations after hours.
One wonders why Charlie Webber (Dick Christie) or a member of the security staff he heads didn’t use a passkey to enter the executive suite at some point. Being that Steffy and Carter were cavorting after hours, it would have been plausible to investigate that main office, but it didn’t happen.
Daphne left her husband in tears because she seemed committed to only having a child through birth. Adoption apparently wasn’t a digestible option, and other, more complicated options didn’t feel right.
As viewers are seeing, Daphne is now leading the discussion about how she and Carter can pursue alternative paths to having at least one child.
Adoption would provide a needy soul with a family and a good life, but Daphne seems to be moving toward implant or surrogate options.
Carter was open to other means of creating a family before Daphne claimed she was leaving for France, where she would spend time with or even move back to family.
However, he can’t possibly fake interest in having Steffy and her frozen eggs involved in his family plans with Daphne in any way.
Fans can see this a mile away. Finn is a doctor, and he will be asked to help Daphne and Carter achieve their family goal.
The nature of potentially helping that couple while also being asked to facilitate the use of his wife’s eggs is very personal. But it would also be a way for the plot to flow toward an eventual startling realization.
It’s clear that if Daphne secures Finn’s assistance, with Carter’s covered, grudging support, that Steffy will be forced into the tightest possible moral corner
. Whether she would be able to maintain her composure would be another part of this proposed turn in the already tenuous storyline.
