That’s because many people have noticed that actor Maurice Benard, who is best known for his role as Sonny Corinthos on the hit ABC soap, might or might not be using a teleprompter to recite his lines whenever he’s in front of the cameras.

While there’s no doubt that Maurice is one of the best daytime television stars that the soap world has ever seen, it seems like he is relying more and more on someone or maybe even something to help him deliver his lines.

And while no one knows if this is true or not, there’s no doubt that viewers certainly do have their opinions about what might really be going on behind the scenes and let’s just say that many are worried.

Clearly, many GH fans had a lot to say about the matter on social media.

Some even commented with, “I have noticed lately that he’s looking off screen at a teleprompter or whatever they use. Sonny has been doing it more and more lately. It takes me out when I see him look off screen to remind him of his lines.”

“I’ve seen people say that he’s phoning it in these days and I’m wondering if this is part of that.”

What’s Really Going On With Maurice Benard?

Another critic wrote, “I noticed that as well wondering why he was like that lol him standing in the bar he had must’ve forced them to use something different than normal or he was saying memorized lines at times slowly with lots of pauses to not sound as choppy.”

And then there was this comment as well: “It’s time for him to retire. I can’t look at him anymore. Even his social media. His dancing is weird. I know I sound bad. I loved him as Nico.”

“He’s not as good at hiding it as he once was. I find it distracting when Sonny pauses too long because Maurice is searching for the words. It disrupts the flow.”
