Days of Our Lives Comings & Goings Sept 7-11: Recast Return, New Character Alert + More

Welcome Back, Sydney DiMera
Days of Our Lives reveals that Sydney Malakeh will debut as the Sydney DiMera recast during the Wednesday, September 9 show. With that said, Sami Brady’s (Alison Sweeney) and EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feuerriegel) youngest daughter won’t pop back up in Salem … not just yet!
She’ll be seen in Monte Carlo, all grown up, as she takes part in the same high-stakes poker game that Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) and Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) are at.
Sydney was last portrayed by young actress Evelyn Stephenson in 2021 during the Peacock spin-off, Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas.
New Character Alert
Speaking of another loved one of Sami Brady’s, Dante Vitali is set to debut on Days of Our Lives on Monday, September 14. Franco Lo Presti will play Sami’s fiancé, who also has links to Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) and the ‘Vitali’ crime syndicate.
With that said, it’s important to note that Sami will not be by Dante’s side when he comes to her hometown, although, as per reports, Sami will return to Salem in June 2027 for a major storyline.
She, along with Christie Clarke (Carrie Brady), Bryan Datillo (Lucas Horton), and Chandler Massey (Will Horton), will have a “reunion” arc of sorts, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens. Still, why is Dante coming to Salem without Sami? Fans will have to tune in to find out!
Vico Escorcia Off Contract
Lastly, Vico Escorcia, who plays Arianna “Ari” Horton, has been removed from the Peacock soap’s contract list. As per Jason47, a handle on Facebook, Escorcia has now been dropped to recurring status, which doesn’t necessarily mean that Ari is leaving; it just means that she’ll only be seen when the character is needed for storyline purposes.
Escorcia took over as the Ari recast from Marissa Reyes this past April 8.
