Budig has been quietly running one of the most genuinely fun soap podcasts out there, and it’s absolutely stacked with guests that we know you would love to hear from.

What Exactly Is “Soapy”?

Budig co-hosts the show with fellow soap actor Greg Rikaart. The two have been very good friends and neighbors for decades, and the podcast really shows their genuine feelings and allows the guests to feel at ease with them. It’s like walking into a friend’s house and goofing around rather than a strict show or podcast.

New episodes come out every week on Tuesday, with a video available on the CBS YouTube channel. Of course, you can listen to it anywhere you listen to podcasts. Surprisingly, it launched back in the Summer of 2025 and has been building up ever since.

Budig and Rikaart have stated that the entire reason they started the show was simply that they wanted an excuse to talk to people they admired in the soap industry. This admiration really shines through when you see how easy it is for them to talk to all of their guests, and how comfortable the guest feels.

It’s simply two soap veterans curious about other soap actors and wanting to hear and share stories that would never make it out anywhere else.

Recently, we got to see a fun and hilarious Don Diamont (Bill Spencer) on the show, and it was such a relaxed and silly interview that probably wouldn’t cut it in a larger broadcast setting.

But between Rikaart and Budig, the fun stories ooze out of their guests, and you really get a wonderful slice of what life is like behind-the-scenes for these actors and actresses.

It sounds like they really have a lot of fun with their job, and have been waiting to share some amazing stories.
