B&B Spoilers: Taylor’s Rejection Wasn’t About Deacon, It’s About Ridge

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers reveal that Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) just turned down a proposal from Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan). Viewers are probably still trying to figure out why, but it’s probably a lot simpler than we’re giving it credit.

Maybe Taylor never actually stopped waiting for the one man this show has never let her fully let go of, the only and only Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). And somewhere out there, Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) is filing Taylor’s rejection of Deacon away for later.

A No That Sounds Like Unfinished Business

Deacon got down on one knee, ring and everything, and Taylor said no. On the surface, that reads like a woman being cautious. But Taylor and Ridge have been circling each other for decades, on and off, married and divorced and reunited more times than this show can probably keep track of.

Turning down a genuinely devoted man like Deacon isn’t just hesitation. It might be Taylor quietly admitting, even to herself, that Deacon was never going to be enough while Ridge is still out there living his life with Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang).

Is Ridge Still The Real Answer?

Right now, Ridge is busy playing devoted partner, trying to distract Brooke from Forrester’s business troubles with a little romance.

But this show has taught us that Ridge’s loyalties shift with the wind, and Taylor has been on the winning side of that shift before.

If Taylor’s really holding out hope, she’s betting that Forrester’s latest crisis, or Brooke’s next mistake, or simply time itself, eventually clears a path back to Ridge. It’s also exactly the kind of long con this show loves to reward.

Meanwhile, Sheila Is Taking Notes

Here’s the complication nobody asked for. Sheila already blames Taylor for the end of her marriage to Deacon, and now Taylor just publicly mocked him by turning him down in front of everyone who matters. From where Sheila’s standing, that’s not closure.

That’s an opening for revenge. A woman like Sheila doesn’t need much of a reason to start scheming, and Taylor might be exactly the kind of gasoline Sheila needs to unleash her next devious plan.

Whether her plan is petty revenge, a full-blown obsession, or something far more dangerous, Taylor turning Deacon down has given Sheila one more reason to circle back.
